Title: TradeHill - Problems withdrawing btc
Post by: MelMan2002 on January 20, 2012, 02:00:32 PM
TradeHill claims to execute btc withdrawal within 12 hours.  I've done many small withdrawals before and they were often executed within minutes.  But this is the first time I've done a large btc withdrawal (over 1000 btc).

I've been waiting about 46 hours now and nothing.  I've been trying to contact them via email and forum PM since the 12 hour mark and I've received no response at all.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is there any other way to get their attention?  I can't even find a way to cancel it and do smaller withdrawals instead.  I needed this btc yesterday!!!

Big BTC withdrawals over a certain value have to be confirmed manually on TradeHill

So...how long should I expect it to take?

Well, I finally got a reply...maybe.  I got a request for a picture of my ID and myself and crap like that.  But the request came from tradehill.zendesk.com  I'm trying to get verification from a tradehill.com email address that they are indeed using zendesk but...still no reply on that.  Anyone know if tradehill.zendesk.com is legit?  It has a very scammy feel to it...

zendesk.com is an outsourced helpdesk provider. i would say you're dealing with a legit support system..

I'm not questioning zendesk.com - I'm questioning whether tradehill.zendesk.com is tradehill controlled or possibly a phishing site posing as tradehill.

I think it is. I have had several dealings with their support system and that was the email address.

A word to the people reading this: withdraw large amounts in 100 BTC increments.  These are processed automatically.

I'm having the same issue as well. With nearly 1000 USD worth of bitcoin. Seriously, wtf makes TradeHill think I'm OK with *them* sitting on a THOUSAND DOLLARS of MY money

Ok - looks like this finally went through.  It took 6 days and me submitting scanned id and crap like that.  tradehill.zendesk.com apparently is their support site, though I never got a response to my many requests to Jered (via PM and email) for confirmation about that.  I did, however, find a post somewhere where Jered mentions zendesk.

Anyway - my only suggestion to anyone reading this is to stay away from tradehill.  They simply disregard your emails and ignore you.  It is very unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable.

glad everything worked out for you, im having this exact same problem, tried to withdraw over 800 btc to another btc address, status is stuck on "In Process: for about 2 days now after stated it would take up to 12 hours.... I emailed them twice, no response... email included my situation as well attachments for my ID and proof of residency, (thought this was help speed the process as I was reading these posts) This is horrible customer service, my main concern is that the btc value drops and i take a big loss....

On a side note, does tradehills bank wire withdraw charge only 45 $ no matter the amount? or does it have those hidden random fees that they hit you up with, just because so far what they have stated on there website was false...

thanks, im just really worried right now , especially when they choose to ignore...

I also have USD in there, (thats why i wanted to know about the bank wire transfer, because 45 $ is a lot already) how about the cheque that they can send? because im in Canada but i have family in the states who can recieve the cheque and send it down here.... is the box where they ask for a name, supposed to be the person in the household's name? or the person who there writing the cheque too, sorry just a bit confused... also wondering if I can put the cheque under my name, would the person recieving the cheque for me in the states need ID to pick it up?

You would want the check in your name.  They'll just send it through the regular mail - no ID required to pick it up.
