Title: Pokémon RNGing for BTC
Post by: Sherkel on January 21, 2012, 10:10:30 PM
A few months ago, I was quite the Pokémon trader. However, I have lost interest for the most part in playing online (gone back to the oldies on my GBC.) I don't want to let my skills go to waste, though!
Pokémon RNGing is the process of forcing the game to generate a Pokémon with certain stats, without any sort of external device. Pokémon that would have taken weeks or months to breed can now be obtained within an hour. The problem is that the methods for doing this are rather complex; that is why I think some might be willing to give me some BTC for it.
Currently, I will take requests for RNGing in Generations III and IV (can't quite get the hang of Gen V, but with a decent bid I may try.) For Generation III RNG requests, I will use an emulator. Generation IV requests will be completed on a retail cart. I will even post a video for proof that the Pokémon you ask for is purely untouched by cheat devices, should you ask.

Here is a tentative price list:
Generation IV breeding project: 0.2 BTC
Generation IV breeding project (shiny): 0.3 BTC
Generation IV capture project: 0.3 BTC
Generation IV capture project (shiny): 0.4 BTC (I may not be able to do many of these)
Generation III stationary capture project: 0.5 BTC (these take a while, even with an emulator)
Generation III stationary capture project (shiny): 0.6 BTC (so do these, obviously)
These are the only RNG projects I will take at the moment. Stationary means that the Pokémon is not a random encounter (i.e. legendaries.)

Request form:
Pokémon:
IV's at 31:
Captured or bred?:
If captured, in what ball?:
Shiny?:
Special moves:
Am I allowed to keep a clone?:

Any takers?

What does this do that the Pokesav program can't do?  (not trying to be a dick here, I legitimately don't really know very much about Pokesav and am curious about the difference)

Pokesav in the right hands can make undetectable hacks. However, based on the amount of hacks going around, many people don't use it correctly. Serious players prefer to know that their Pokémon were obtained legitimately for two reasons: the official hack checkers may know things we don't, and the simple reason that cheat devices detract from the game overall.

So people would need to send their carts to you?

Nope. Trading can be done over Wi-Fi now.
