Hello Shibes! In the first round of voting in our logo contest, our top two contenders were albertdros and crypt0cowbody. Now they face off in a final vote to decide the winner of the 150,000 ShibeCoin bounty and the next logo of ShibeCoin!

Both are great. But I think for a Coin (even crypto) it needs to be a little more minimalist and also I like the metallic look too.

Yes, awesome work on both, the cartoony ones matches the wallet design though.

I tend to agree. It's only leading by 1 vote though, seems like albertdros' logo has picked up the sadface supporters.

Dude, what are you doing seriously?  We all know the #2 submission was rigged, it had 20 votes in like 1 second, Albert noticed it, I noticed it, several other people did.

The only one that doesn't look bad in the wallet is this one below, since the #2 submission was rigged and would have similar # of votes to the sadface one below, it should be included as well.

Albert and the one below are, I think, the only ones made from scratch as well.

I like this one.

As does everyone else that has shrunk them down and actually put the picture in the wallet, it's the only one that doesn't look completely unnatural and bizarre when doing so.  You cannot put a shiny, chromed out, computer generated image into the current cartoonish looking wallet, it doesn't match at all.

given that i'm out i'd like to give an opinion on that second logo:

its not original work. its a cheap photoshop of some images found on the web. its not vector, its not scalable.
the type is too small and it's got too many colors which makes it expensive to print (prolly also gradients, too lazy to check that right now). i count three different fonts in there, that dont work with each other at all.
there is more, but should be enough.
if this is anything of a serious coin, you will end up redoing the logo in half a year.

logos like that should be excluded from the contest in the first place.

regarding the first logo:

its got that egg shape, due to the 3d effect. not sure if you got it in a round icon type of shape aswell, would be mandatory imo. heavy use of gradients, no vector.
as far as i can say it is original work and it looks good, so the designer knows his way around the software he did it with. if it wins he might be able to adjust it a bit so it can be used as a logo, icon etc. right now its a wallpaper/banner kind of artwork to me.

I am happy with either but it will be harder to make the cgi version work. I didn't rig the vote i campaigned. No one voted that didnt like it. They all still had free will. I just like #2. I think its memorable and it sells even if it is cute and girly. It also fits perfectly with the wallet. It scales fine.  I dont like the tough guy attitude on this coin because its just like walking into a crowded bar and acting tough everyother tough guy is gonna try to kick your ass and we already have a problem with that.

Thanks for your vote. I really liked yours and I personally think it fits better with the wallet than mine. However, it MAY look too similar with DOGE. I made mine with something completely different in mind, and I guess this was not appreciated by some. My thoughts were that Doge is already cute, and making something similar would just make this coin even more like DOGE and imo that would not work for this coin. My thoughts were that this coin needed to have a completely different appearance. I also offered to change the shape of the character by the devs needs. Anyway, about vector. Yes, it's a 3d render so its no vector. I can obviously render the front and it still looks good. I actually made it based on a vector i drew, so an icon is also possible. As you understand, I can render it out in unlimited resolution, so that's not really a problem. If you need a poster or anything i just render it in 10k by x, so I guess in this case 'no vector' isn't really an issue.

I was thinking of same thing. We need yours as logo because shibe needs to be SWAG! 8)

Out of these choices I like #2.

Apparently you dont understand brand either. That is just a copy of doges brand. It is not  memorable, eyecatching, or saleable. Even doge got lucky with its logo. No body can figure out why it became popular. Bad coin, bad logo, it just had the funny factor. If you had a marketing background you would understand what sells and what will make a sensation.  Cute shit sells.  Hello Kitty makes billions because it has a cute logo that can be plastered on every imaginable thing.

Doge got popular because its a funny meme, right place, right time.  Cute shit does sell, which is why I voted for #2.  Still you shrink that image down and its looks awful.  Even something like this would be better.

What I am saying is the current state of the logo isn't brandable, it looks great but needs to be presented better.  Look at the hello kitty logo and see how simplistic it is. 

Anyways, what with the insults? I do have a marketing background and i'm pretty fucking good at it thankyou.  I am giving my thoughts on the logo but will support whatever the community decides, but my argument is perfectly valid here.

FWIW, both logo designers have said they're willing to make minor adjustments if their logo is selected. Albertdros would do a non-3d version for use on the wallet and cryptocowboy would remove the color on SHIBE and change some of the wording.

Thats good to hear.  Can albertdros maybe give us a preview of the non-3d? 

since thats an image from the web, i wouldn't have to work with him. to me its not even know clear what license it was published under and if its allowed to be republished/reused for whatever purpose.

Everyone who has any kind of background whatsoever in graphics has said that one is the best.  Even Albertdros (the other guy in this poll) said it was better than his for the wallet.

You can't let people vote for stuff like this that put all of 1 second of thought into it.  Humans practice specialization in labor, some people are good at graphics and design and putting together layouts to look good, some aren't.  It's dumb to even let people vote on something like this that don't have any kind of background in the subject and the only thing going through their head is, "I want something that looks cute herp herp".

Even worse, once you moved the little pug shibe and photoshopped it into the sadface background, it now looks like a god damn cat!  Neither the #1 or #2 in this poll would be allowed to go into that wallet if this was controlled only by an actual art department.  Both of them look completely unnatural when placed in it.

They don't care, I tell them when you shrink it down to put it in the current wallet, you can't even read the words, they don't give a shit.  They offer no counter argument for why that's ok, who needs legible words anyway!  It's completely stupid.  Do not let people who have no background in graphics or design have power over something like this.  It's like sending a hair dresser to go be a professional wrestler.


You like it because you don't know what you're doing.  The photoshopped pug shibe placed in the new background looks like a cat.  Albertdros version looks like a bear.  Someone else said it looked like a raccoon or something.  You cannot have ambiguous, retarded stuff like that going on for  first impressions in advertising.  If you were in charge of an advertising business, it would be bankrupt.

Let's also not forget the person who entered that image didn't even create it himself.  Nobody knows who has the rights to it.  You need an ORIGINAL design for a logo like this.

There is solid evidence whatsoever, let alone proof, of vote rigging. r0ach, I'm sorry the logo you like didn't win. Get over it. I'm not going to invalidate the results because someone claimed 'they came in too quick.' Now THAT would be a bad business decision.

In other news....unbelievably, we have a tie!! I'll be talking with the ShibeCouncil and trying to figure out the best way forward. Thanks again to all our participants.

This is a complete ripoff of dogecoin. Your entire concept is borrowed from a pre-existing brand.

Image # 1 looks like an incredibly professional logo.

Image #2 looks like something that's marketed towards kids. It's still very good though.

My opinion is that you should go for image 1 but ask the designer to pull the image upwards so that it's more like a coin face. The doge is superb but it does look more Akita than  Shiba in its profile. However, these are small criticisms and the logo as it stands is absolutely stunning.
