Kept getting 1.4## in the column reporting hash per seconds.. Kept downloading different things and trying different settings... then I just saw the M instead of a K.. ;D

I haven't been able to find any concrete evidence of this, but I'm really starting to suspect you're right. There are far too many x11 miners with outrageous hash rates.
