(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

On a serious note though, MPOE-PR was dedicating a decent chunk of her time on calling out possible future scammers and teaching people how not to get scammed. Aside of trolling she was serving the community with some quality content which I think we'll miss.

Edit: A split for offtopic discussion? didn't even knew that was possible.

Pardon, what is going on? Who is threatened by whom and who got banned for what? If banning happens all too silently here, I want no part in this forum but I assume there is lengthy discussions somewhere. If MPOE-PR and others were silently banned I will switch over to twitter 100% and make sure as many as possible do the same. For now I have to assume the mods did the right thing but I want to read it up to judge for myself.

Also MPOE-PR (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=52741) not stating anything about a ban is not what I would call transparent, if he/she actually was banned.

Thanks and thanks theymos for the pm. Guess it would just be helpful to mark banned people as banned so people interacting with her, know not to expect an answer.

I see this forum as the personal toy project of theymos and he should only follow his own rules which he should be able to change at any time. No problem with that (given private information is not abused). For this forum to stay my forum of choice I would just hope it to be transparent an pleasant as possible for all, and if one user costs the moderators an accumulated 2h per day, measures to reduce this to zero for some time might be good for the forum to be a nicer place. If that user was right, he should find like-minded people on reddit or his own phpbb.

Quite right! This is theymos' playground. We're here because he's willing to let us stay. I'm frankly amazed at how long some people lasted before they were permabanned. Who else was shocked that Atlas or MnW kept returning? Seriously PG has walked the edge of the knife a few times and I thought it would be his last. It's more than just debating or presenting a different point of view in a thread. Even arguing a good point is passable. But most of these people badger, spam and harass in a thread until the thread is toast. Theymos is a lot more forgiving than most would be.

And I'm the good guy!

That's ok. Meta is a good place for it. No one will ever see it here. lol

I don't think its a cover up. Really, it shouldn't have been split off at all. All off topic posts in the original thread, including mine, should have been deleted. Something that someone said was obviously believed to be worth salvaging the entire group of posts.

Honestly, I'm glad that über-cunt has been banned. He was a rude, nasty, egotistical tosses with no personal skills at all

It was just MP using a puppet account to further his ego anyway.

You're happy that we lost a member of the community that was dedicating a big chunk of her day pushing bitcoin accepting services to be more transparent? I personaly didn't mind her offensive atitude as long as she was giving back to the community.

I'll have to agree with that. But honestly though, she would get really annoying at times. Accusing every website owner in the forums without any evidence... Sometimes she ended up being right but yeah, annoying is the least I can say.
