I'm new to crypto-currencies but I, like any self respecting internet/tech junkie, find the concept fascinating and I want to be a part of it all! This looks like it is the place to start. Any advice from pros would be most appreciated. Like, what's the easiest and cheapest way to get a bunch of bitcoins? Haha :D Good luck to you all! Title: Re: newbie logging in! Haha :D If you are in the U.S., then the easiest way to get bitcoins is through Coinbase or LocalBitcoins. Title: Re: newbie logging in! LocalBitcoins is nice because you get instant gratification and don't have to give anyone your personal information. You can also try kraken if you are in Europe I have not tried them but I hear good things. You can also try the faucet sites but you will only end up with a small amount of coin from them. I`d recommend more on localbitcoins.com more since you purchase in person in cash, depending on the ad you see on there. Coinbase acts more of a broker, there are lots of stories that go unsaid of purchases that never fulfill since they didnt have enough bitcoin. Or just a limit to buying, and lack of support. Another alternative is if you know people who are mining it and thats close to your area or friend to buy it from. Title: Re: newbie logging in! Just remember some self awareness if you are doing it in person. Carry a security pen, that you count the money and mark on the paper to see if its legit. Take every precaution of not getting screwed, especially depending on the amount. So example, 1 btc right now goes for $400-440 , check all those bills in the light and a counterfeit pen. Dont feel rushed, take your time. Most bills wont pass the pen, and will leave a marking on the ink thats made. Good luck on your 1st purchase! :) Title: Re: newbie logging in! Make sure to use logic when choosing a place and time. Should be in public, day time, so if something goes awry you can yell out for help or something. I've used localbitcoins.com several times and haven't had any issues as of yet. |
