Personally I would do a variety of things. That's the only Twinkie ingredient that's also an ingredient in rocket fuel (though it's not the only ingredient in rocket fuel - you (probably) can't make a rocket out of Twinkie batter). It's simply a viscosity modifier, and is not just used in foods, but also in toothpastes, detergents, water-based paints, and industrial and personal lubricants. It's a very versatile chemical.
