Title: Bitcoin Foundation hit by resignation over new director
Post by: usamakhalid961 on May 16, 2014, 12:09:13 PM
- As the most prominent trade group pushing adoption of the electronic currency Bitcoin begins its annual conference on Friday, it is being roiled by controversy.

At least 10 members of the nonprofit Bitcoin Foundation have resigned over last week’s election of onetime Disney child star and current Bitcoin entrepreneur and financier Brock Pierce as a new director, officials at the group said.

Some of the members cited Pierce’s troubled past. That includes allegations in lawsuits from three employees of Pierce’s first company, bankrupt web video business Digital Entertainment Network, that he provided drugs and pressured them for sex when they were minors.

Pierce has denied the accusations, which first surfaced in 2000.

“The allegations against me are not true, and I have never had intimate or sexual contact with any of the people who made those allegations,” Pierce told Reuters via email.

Court records show 33-year-old Pierce,  who played the title role in Disney’s “First Kid,”  paid more than $21,000 to settle one employee suit, and he said others dropped their claims without money changing hands.

Wow, I'm really surprised how quickly Bitcoin Foundation went down the slippery spiral.  :-\

why would you be surprised though? there's a lot of money and power to be had - to think that the bitcoin industry would be immune to this is.. well, shortsighted.

The worst PR Bitcoin can get. I fucking hate the bitcoin foundation and I fucking hate all you people who find excuses for Brock Pierce.
You are the same assholes who naively posted "Oh no, everything is fine with Mt.Gox, its just a bug. They will soon reenable withdrawals and then we go to the moon!"

And we should never forget the names of these board members of the Bitcoin Foundation. They sat on their ass when their fellow board member, Mark Karpeles, raped the Bitcoin community.
Spread the word!

In case you're wondering who the hell could be responsible for Mark Karpeles' controversial replacement...

This post would be so motherfuckin' hilarious if not for the fact it's true.

Interesting fact: The video from which the image above was gleaned was shot only yards away from where that FBI plane ran outta gas in the movie Casino.

That guy is involved in so many companies.

Pierce is currently a Managing Director of the Clearstone Global Gaming Fund and sits on the boards of IMI Exchange, GoCoin, ExpressCoin, KnCMiner.cn, Robocoin Asia, Mastercoin Foundation, Xfire, Playsino, FGL, and Spicy Horse Games.

If he's involved in cp etc, he should be removed from all bitcoin related companies.

It's an interesting situation to follow, that's for sure. Saw that reuters picked up an article on the resignations. But really 10 members is a drop in the bucket.

 Wait a second there fella!

 This is not about Bitcoin!

This is ALL about The Bitcoin Foundation and
it's current state of affairs.

And it is NOT the 'most prominent trade group'.
 Not hardly.
 Not anymore.
 No Chance.
No Way.
Not Ever again.

They ruined their Organization, Not Bitcoin.
And those dummies are going down the
drainpipe from the looks of things.

This is not at all about Bitcoin.
====================

Bitcoin will shrug this off like everything else and never miss a beat.

This is about some other things altogether separate from Bitcoin.
And certain ones just made some horrific judgement calls as well
as put maybe the very last nails into that organization as it is
known of today. They also just attracted the wrath of God for
what some may have done too. But get the facts straight.

 Bitcoin is Great.

 Bitcoin is The Future.

 Bitcoin is FREEDOM.

No Bailout Queens need apply. There will be No Bailouts For Losers in Bitcoin!

Sounds crazy, but I'm curious if you have any credible evidence to prove/suggest that Disney child stars are part of a grand conspiracy?
Anything....How did the speculation originally start? ...or whatever you have to offer.

Will this work, for starters, for the "whatever you have to offer" category?: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread557408/pg1

There's about 476,000 links more from where that was gleaned: https://www.google.com/search?q=disney+pedophile&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS549US549&oq=disney+pedophile&aqs=chrome..69i57.7592j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8

Let's be honest, sexual harassment lawsuits are a big industry. Companies pay people off all the time. Maybe it is a right of passage that BTC is getting huge that the organization has its first harassment controversy.

Speaking of paying off, is it just me, or does it feel like such to others that a lot of fairly new user accounts, along with some dormant ones recently revived, have been posting heavily, quite elegantly, I may add, on the Discussion section of this forum of late, namely when both the Brock Pierce and TBF thingies hit the board, done so, perhaps, as a down-voting mechanism, of sorts, à la Reddit?

I say down with Bitcoin Foundation, this group of people who seem to only imagine they are some kind of elite, will only damage bitcoin with the dirty past some of them have.
