What is the best website/platform to loan btc?

I agree with Another. You can always invest, though. That's usually a better idea than doing a flat out loan.

The problem is that if you just leave it in your wallet (and it isn't a PoS coin) you won't be earning anything, :p.

My best advice is do not lend. My buddy Cam got ripped off for 0.5 BTC the other day. Do not trust a Portuguese guy named Joao. That being said we do need to trust each other to get BTC viable, but no platform for lending currently guarantees that.

Places like havelockinvestments. If you have money, though, often times you can get in private investments (before they IPO, or in lieu of an IPO) in companies.

Do you own any shares there? I am looking at a lot of different investing options but haven't pulled the trigger yet with all of this being so new to me. If you have any advice or insight I would appreciate it.

I do have shares on Havelock, yes. I don't give out investment advice though. The best thing I can tell you is to understand what you're getting into before you do it. Don't just blindly toss money at a company in the hopes it may make some profit.

I understand. I am kind of overwhelmed with information right now to say the least. My best bet might be to spend a weekend reading up on everything before making any decisions. 

It takes six months to a year of solid reading to understand some of what is going on in Bitcoin.

get people in your neighbourhood who are interested in bitcoin to do it through you. why waste 1btc on a 1 year scam from bitjam, when you can find someone locally that may want to buy 1 btc over the next year, give them it upfront and then ask them to repay when they can. then atleast you can slap them with a wet fish, face to face if they scam you.

As others have said... dont loan. Is the risk of getting say 10% for e.g worth losing the loaned amount over. If the price dbls chances are you wont get your bitcoins back and the lendee will cry abd say they didnt expect price rise. We have seen it literally 100s of times before. Plus do you really want stress of chasing after sumone.....

Donate it to charity in all seriousness. Cause you will probs loose it anyways unfortunatly . Sad its like this...but it is :/

If I desired to lend, I'd go to BitLendingClub simply because they're in the US but aren't complying with any of the securities laws that they're supposed to be. If I lost a significant amount, l'd just sue them and take it.
