Title: Quick Bounty - Riser Configuration Post by: Lucky Cris on May 17, 2014, 02:13:41 PM Thinking that I bricked two mobos (I didn't tho) I went out and got another. One less slot and too many 16x! Anyhoo, I have more than enough 1x powered risers, but only 2 of the 16x and I have two rigs (10 GPUs) to set up.
Here's the thing - I know I can connect those 1x risers in those damn 16x slots. Question is - HOW? I tried all types of configurations but I get a blank screen if I use anything other than a 16x riser. mobo: ASUS Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 OS: Windows 8 Cards: R9 290 - default Windows driver Main Power: Corsair AXi 1200 (3 cards) Slave Power: Thermalake 750 (2 cards - not even connected yet) If it's possible to do with the USB risers, I know this is possible. Who knew it could even do that.

Some folks have said that you get less has power... not sure how true, but since I opted to get a million of the traditional kind, that's what I have to work with lol |
