I would like to determine interest on doing a group order internationally to save on shipping cost.  There may be US and EU local resellers in the future which would save on costs, but until that happens, I would like to see if anyone is interested now in an order very soon.  The order date is TBD, but I would estimate doing this within a few days.  

Note that Smoothie's flat rate shipping ordered direct from him is roughly $45 per order out of Hawaii.  

The organizer, haploid23, has provided the following Shipping Rates instead.  Rates for coins from him to you, depending on quantities via USPS:

US domestic: $2 - $5.25
Canada: $7 ~ $13
All other countries: $7 ~ $15

Unless someone else wants to step up here, I can organize the group buy.

Unless we can get a large enough volume (20 + coins), then the prices are the same as the website. Shipping will be 0.01BTC plus the mainland shipping costs. There are two main options for shipping:

Everyone pays a flat shipping rate (for example, 0.02BTC total for USPS priority mail w/tracking)

or,

Everyone sends in a prepaid shipping label from my zip code. (you can pay in USD and save your bitcoin)

I am open to either option. I have been on this forum since 2011 and I have several positive trust ratings. Let's work out the main details here and I can start a new thread for placing orders. I would like to place an order this week, so let's get this moving.

Thanks for stepping up.  I'm good with whatever is decided, and more than happy to have you handle the arrangements.  I just wanted to get the ball rolling. 

My goal is for us to save on shipping, possibly even on the coins themselves with a group order.  The sooner we order the better.

I also already PM'ed smoothie a few days ago regarding group buy also. I'm willing to step up to help organize a group buy also.

I've run several successful group buys in the past, and currently still paying a monthly service free for an Endicia account (mass shipping via USPS). The USPS shipping rate is roughly only $2 for up to 3oz, and I think 30cents for each ounce after 3oz, for up to 13oz. After that, a flat rate of $5.25. So add the evenly split cost of $40 from Hawaii and you got your total.

So for example if 20 coins are ordered, then split cost for each coin is $2. Then if you're only buying a single coin to be reshipped, it's another $2 for a grand total of $4 shipping, rather than $40 directly from smoothie. If you're getting 5 coins, then it's roughly $13 grand total for shipping ($2 per coin split cost, plus $3 USPS reshipping). That's assuming if we only order 20 coins. But if the group buy is larger, then the split cost for each coin is cheaper.

It sounds like Endicia is the way to go here with haploid23 as the organizer. If we can get enough people to split a roll of 1/10btc brass, I'll take 5.

Ok, I'll run this group buy for the first round since I also want some coins for myself  :D. Not sure if I'll be able to dedicated the time for any additional group buy batches. Organizing group buys take massive amount of time to communicate with all the buyers, packaging and shipping, and other logistics. I'm also willing to ship out packages outside of US if no other EU or Asia group buy gets off the ground. Rates for coins from me to you, depending on quantities:

Would it be a problem if I bought just one "Brass Lealana Bitcoin"? I am a bit tight on BTC right now, but I would love to have one of those.

If you're willing to pay for the international shipping from our group ship organizer based out of the U.S., I don't see why you couldn't.  It would be much cheaper than buying direct from smoothie with flat $45 shipping.

I'm of course willing to pay for the international shipping part. And I know that it's cheaper then the flat $45 shipping fee, which is why I decided to join this group buy. I just wanted to be sure that I can participate, because, you know, I am buying something that small.

If there aren't higher rates to ship there vs say from US to UK, then it should be on the lower end.  Some little island in the middle of nowhere may likely incur more costs than a main destination, based on USPS rates.

We're not looking to profit off shipping...just cover mailing, packaging, and any other reasonable costs.

At the end of the day, the group organizer will determine costs based on how many people are in the group to share smoothie's initial shipping $45 flat costs, how many coins they ordered, and where he's reshipping to.

Specifically to South Africa, it's ~$11 if you're only getting a few coins. All countries have different rates mailing from the US, and it's too much of a hassle for me to list rates for every country, for every weight. There is a base cost that no matter how light the package is, it will cost that much ($7), and every additional ounce is a small increment added to the base cost.
