Post by: nzminer on May 18, 2014, 11:45:25 PM
I see its crashed bigtime.
From what ive been reading there appears to be alot of arguments in the community.

Im glad i never wasted my time with this coin anyway.

Its in the POS phase, so can only be "mined" on a multipool.
I held around 200k, but never seemed to earn any interest on them, i dont know how long you are required to keep your wallet running for.

Why would the price decide its fate, its not impaired in any way.    Theres more important factors then price, maybe its suffering greater competition and is no longer relevant ?    That would be more worrying for holders I guess

Blackcoin is dead. I tried saying this in the main thread and my comments keep getting deleted. I was trying to answer genuine questions posed in the thread.

This coin reeks of "Enron". Blackcoin shills will tell you everything is ok and to keep buying, meanwhile they are dumping Blackcoin and running off with the profits.

Same thing with CINNI. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I hope you guys enjoy "earning" 1% annually while losing 90% of your coins wealth. Its quite amusing watching the train-wreck that is Blackcoin, Whitecoin and CINNI. You guys are all getting fooled.

Someone tell me how much these coins are down from their all-time highs? Yup, plenty of people got burnt big time. If people enjoying losing BTC in these scam coins then please by all means keep "investing" in them.

BlackCoin being dead is volume in the hundreds of BTC per day. It has more volume doing nothing than when NXT rises. :D

Someone tell me how much these coins are down from their all-time highs? Yup, plenty of people got burnt big time. If people enjoying losing BTC in these scam coins then please by all means keep "investing" in them.

BlackCoin is down 80% from it's ATH. In the past, BTC has been down 85%, 79%, and is currently down 63% from its ATHs. LiteCoin is currently down 77% from its ATH. NMC is down 87% from its ATH. I could go on and on.

From what ive been reading there appears to be alot of arguments in the community.

On BTCtalk, it's a little turbulent sometimes. A lot of the community moved to http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin, almost 1500 subs (it was only ~400 a month ago) and I see a majority of new projects posted/worked on there.

Really popular coins can sometimes drop in price then unexpectedly shoot back up. Black coin could shoot back up in price months from now.

I would say it's quite the opposite. After BC's incredible performance for a coin that is today less than 3 months old and despite the flood of copy clones created in an attempt to imitate the successful model that BC initiated, to date none has been able to gain significant ground on BC in terms of price or volume. At best all these copy clones have managed to take away some of BC's marketshare, with each new one resorting to more and more gimmicks and illusionary nonsense claims in an effort to cash in. To me that is a testament to BC's resilience and community. A short-term price consolidation is not only natural but necessary to build a base from which further gains can be achieved. No investment ever goes up by orders of magnitude in a straight line and that is especially true in altcoins.

"is it over?"  800BTC+ daily trading volume says otherwise :)

You can buy/sell BlackCoin with EUR, USD, GBP, CAD & CNY; as well as directly trade with other altcoins.

CoinKite implementation from 1st June, and Max Borges PR Agency actively promoting for the next 90 days.

Plus the extremely active community:

I have never seen a spirit of development and innovation like there is in the BlackCoin community. The amount of work going towards supporting this coin every day leaves me with no doubt in my mind that we will rise to the top. BlackCoin is far bigger than any one individual. BlackCoin is an entire community that will never stop until we are number one.

We are all members of the BlackCoin team. We are all BlackCoin developers. We are all BlackCoin promoters.

We are all BlackCoin leaders.

In just the last few days...

RJSchex continued to work on the MIT BlackCoin project and media to promote Blackcoin's energy and cost-maintenance advantages, while being a leader on r/blackcoin.

JamesR1 produced an infographic to promote the advantages of BlackCoin.

EcoChav wrote a Chinese introduction article, built a Chinese version of the BlackCoin logo and produced the recent 'What is Blackcoin?' video featuring the Ad Twins.

BjornSolstad built a website to pull in key search terms from Google and direct users appropriately.

Buy-Black continued to update his technical analysis on the BlackCoin chart.

Dognip, after organizing and contributing heavily to the PR firm project, worked with them directly to help promote BlackCoin.

DrTentacle got us started on the creation of a BlackCoin Wikipedia article.

TheDogeOfWallSt and StGNU worked tirelessly to launch version 2 of the BlackCoinPool, a massive technical upgrade.

Rat4 continued to work to improve the BlackCoin PoS system, committing over 3,000 lines of code to BlackCoin on Github.

McKie convinced TeenAIDS, a very well known and respected Non-Profit Organization, to accept donations via BlackCoin while contributing his writing skills to various other projects.

Icepatfork built a BlackCoin price ticker for Mac OSX.

Wurlitzer is building well-designed BlackCoin postcards.

Fayoling built the @blklottery BlackCoin lottery twitter bot.

Soepkip traveled over 4,600 miles to work directly with the PR firm promoting BlackCoin.

Maarx helped organize countless projects for myself and other developers, while working on custom software to convert in-game achievements to BlackCoin for the upcoming Red vs. Blue Meets Black Team Fortress 2 tournament.

DrasticRaven is organizing to create and sell metal BlackCoin USB storage cards, while also working towards creating 3d physical BlackCoins.

TotalMelancholy and Slinger1015 made wallpapers for the community and posted them to the subreddit.

GrittNAuld worked to push BlackCoin in the Asian markets by submitting new promotional media to news outlets.

Edu91 continued to work on the BlackCheque paper wallet.

Countless community members helped these projects simply by commenting with ideas and support!
Many individuals in our community helped promote BlackCoin on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms.

* I'm sure this list would be far bigger if I had more time to scour the web. If I missed you, rest assured, you are appreciated!

Do you really believe that with the strength of our dedicated community, value will not come?

BlackCoin has the chops to compete with the big boys in the crypto. That much is clear. It is up to us to keep pushing as hard as we can! Bitcoin and Litecoin holders made the biggest gains in crypto history not because they sat on their investments, but because they actively supported and promoted their coin!

How can you help?

If you have the skills to work on a project to support BlackCoin, the path is clear.

If not: You can join http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin and show your support for the many projects posted there with comments and ideas. You can tweet and retweet important and promotional messages about BlackCoin on Twitter. You can post all over the internet about the advantages of BlackCoin. You can try to convince merchants to accept BlackCoin. (Especially with CoinKite coming up!) You can support the BlackCoin community in tough times by helping to keep focus on what's important. There are many, many other ways you can help.

Get creative, I believe in you.

Any small thing you can do helps add value to BlackCoin.

Germsite suggested 'Be a Leader' as a slogan for BlackCoin on BlackCoinTalk. I like it.

Enron was about leverage, there isnt even any more coins being made so thats about stable a market as altcoins get.   There isnt any profit as such except from transaction fees perhaps, doesnt come to much as you said.
Enron collapsed as it was a false market where as this one will only die if it is not useful or is not used for some reason.  As a basic product it seems to deliver what it promises and price of that varies and is secondary to its utility.

Enron was not a useful enterprise, they relied on deceptive practise & when that was realised of course it fell.   I can send coins fast, not sure where is the trick that BC has as it seems to do what it says on the tin

Blackcoin will rise soon gradually .You only have to be patient . Those who think it will cross 100k soon , they will be disappointed for short run.

I'm not saying this because I'm a BC "shill" or whatever, I have small holdings in a lot of different coins...
but I don't see why people keep saying BC is "dead". Sure, it's having a rough time at the moment, but it's certainly far from dead... as in completely worthless, with no trade volume, and nobody supporting/promoting it.

They still have the PR firm thing going on, and a lot of other good things mentioned above me in this thread.

Don't buy into all the drama and FUD, it will blow over, and things will be business as usual, if you haven't noticed, the price is gradually recovering.

1% PoS is not worth mentioning. What does 1% mean in cryptos business?

You said it all. :)

But remember; for one month, it was below 10000 satoshi. Most of the great, intense moments in Blackcoin were below 10k sat. An experience I will remember for long, unforgettable.

i remember when people keeps thinking about black going to reach some retarded value like 400k satoshi lol

you guys are so naive is not even funny, no coins here will reach the true "to da moon" , all scam that want your btc nothing else

So give time to BC and someday it will rise.
Generally BC started whole colored madness and all crap cats wanted copy it success...
Is BC fault that crappy clones like AC scammed people ?...
Today there is about + 30 BC copies in different distribution x11 script or interest rates...

About price drop
LTC - 80% in december 50$ today 10$...
BTC - 60% in deceber 1200$ today 450$...
price drop = scam ? or dead?

There is a lot of work around putted into BC...
Coinkite  - online services - hiring professional PR firm - multipool developed by some people

if community can get 30 000$ on PR firm in 3day then it can hire devs to create some cool stuff too...
copy coins will just stay behind and try copy every idea BC can multipool... blackcoincard and so on.

In long therm i am sure that BC will grow...

When you just turn back time to 20 feb 2014 you will realize that was unique coin 1st POW transforming into PURE POS not POW/POS hybrid...
And all laughed from BC... After 100x gain for many trolls it wan't so funny.
Price drop it is pretty normal but BC will get that point sooner when it start gain again.
BC need today 0.36 BTC to keep price if noone want sell it and you sell all produced compare that to 1m of $ BTC a day you will see rising potential.

Mintcoin still had come up with the idea of a POS hybrid before them though.
