This project was abandoned by the original developer leaving IPO investors and miners holding the bag on a stuck blockchain

LoveCoin was originally Scrypt/PoS
(the last few pages of the original thread tell the whole drama), and
Scrypt mining is still possible for a
couple of days, and then Pure PoS will kick in.

We are currently around block 19806 and switch occurs at block
22068. The last block has a special reward.

What future will hold:

Our first priority is to get back on exchanges, we will very soon
have a better block explorer, faucets and contests.

The core idea is to present LOVE as a token of affection that can
be used at dating sites, in connection of giving
Valentine's / Mothers / Fathers day cards etc.

The next version 1.8 is already in preliminary planning stage.
LoveCoin will then implement a modified form of Proof-of-Transaction
introduced by Fluttercoin, unless we come up with something even
more exciting, but right now this is the direction that the tech development
is going.

In a nutshell, this is a resurrection of a rather plain altcoin that
nonetheless was aligned with a very nice, very positive theme, and
we have pledged to make it soar.

As far as I know the old Dev does still have some of the premine which wasent handed out and some of the IPO, more than likely it was sold when pollinex first put love up there.... The old devs an ass who left a nice coin to rott.  We as a community are gonna revive this coin and yes the old Dev might make a little more off it if he's still holding but screw him this is a NEW lovecoin and as for the IPO holders they deserve a coin with a value anyway right??

I have been in communication about the premine with LoveCoinProject, the original
coin operator.

In my view the bulk of the remaining premine should be reconstituted
as a transparent development fund.

Once we have the fund, it will be fully accountable; its balances will be available
at LoveCoins.info together with the stated purpose of each transaction.
The community will have a say in how the funds are managed.

It is bit early to speak about the details, but I mention this since the subject
came up.

The original niche of this coin is romance and dating, and even though I'd like
to somehow see the coin embody in addition all kinds of love-expressions like
altruism, family love, love of animals, love of discovery and what not, I realize
that in promoting the coin it is better not to dilute the focus too soon...

What about some sort of quiz where we could have pics of celebrity babes and hunks
on 3x3 grid that was blackened except for one square. After each turn one more black
square is removed revealing another portion of the image, and who guesses correctly
the name of the person gets the prize. I'm not sure if I explained this well, but I could
produce the images if you like

Anyway now I've been able to vote at ShareXcoin and no doubt we're moving to Top Ten

Me and ryanchen have now tried to top the CoinOk faucet with 100 + 14.95 LOVE
respectively. These are the last two transactions in the list that you can see by
clicking the above link.

But as the block explorer shows, the coins are in both cases diverted
within 5-6 seconds to another address. Because of this I would advise
caution sending more Love to the faucet until the issue is resolved.

It is of course possible that the faucet uses another address for sending
coins.  

I sent some coin back to the faucet. The network is working. No need to worry. It looks like each time the faucet deduct the ~1 LUV payment and put the rest in a new address.

The first Lovecoin that you linked is the first one
to use that name. It was created using automated coingen.io
service. It's rather sweet that the p2p port number corresponds
to the coin owner's spouses birthday. This Lovecoin I think is now defunct.

The third one is the previous version of this Lovecoin.
The original dev abandoned it and it is now under community
control.

The second one is where you are now...

It has been sort of quiet on the development front,
and that's because I've been involved in few other projects.

However by the start of the next month, I will be concentrating
on LOVE again, starting on the faucet, and moving on to
the next update, LoveCoin 2.0 that will have major
algo revision. I also have had interesting discussions about
the marketing, and more about that when the time is
ripe.

I would like to extend warm thanks to all of you who have

I'm sorry to hear that, but individual coins do not die and
cannot be revived. The "revival" in the OP means that when
the original operator vanished, the community took over
and gave a new life to LOVE.

And while I'm on that topic, I'd really LOVE to see
community involved. I'm more into the technical side of
things, so if there's anybody who'd like to try his or her
hand at marketing and contacting people in relevant
niches, please let me know.

Returning to the subject at hand - it would be interesting to
hear the story how you lost those coins to an exchange.

If I had to guess I'd say he had his coins in one of the many scam exchanges which come and go while taking everyone's coins with them.  Some may be sincere but don't have the budget for good security so they get hacked and robbed. Never Mintpal and Vircurex got hacked let alone tiny exchanges.  I'd say Cryptsy and Kraken are the safest right now and have larger budgets to cover losses if they get hacked.

I have had really good luck with bittrex.com lately for 3-4 coins I have been trading on. IMO that would be nice to get LOVE on there.

What domains does the OP have locked up?  I'm curious of he owns the dot com domain.  I own LoverCoin.com and I think I also own CoinLover.  I wanted LoveCoin but I was too late.  I didn't find out about BTC until after it hit $266 so I was late to the party.

With the right domain you can make a lot of money - the value of the coin can actually be 90% the domain itself.
