Title: Is McDonald going to create their own McDonald coin?
Post by: CryptoCurrencyInc.com on May 20, 2014, 05:20:51 PM
Is McDonald going to create their own McDonald coin?
Where as each McDonald coin will allow its coin holder to cash in one McNugget or $1 worth of McDonald bucks?

Maplecoin has already taken advantage of this incredible marketing strategy to promote their Maple Syrup.

A quote from this article:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/cryptocurrency-news-round-bitcoin-spikes-maple-syrup-backs-maplecoin-1449239

Maplecoin, the national cryptocurrency of Canada, has become the first ever cryptocurrency to be backed by an internationally recognised reserve asset: Maple Syrup.
A permanent fixed exchange rate of one maplecoin to one millilitre of Maple Syrup has been established through the creation of the Maplecoin National Syrup Reserve.
Users of maplecoin will therefore now be able to cash in their cryptocurrency for pots of syrupy deliciousness through the syrup reserve.

"You will be required to turn over to us one maplecoin per millilitre of Maple Syrup exchanged," said the maplecoin developer team in a statement. "We will ship with a Certificate of Authenticity from the maplecoin National Syrup Reserve certifying an asset exchange."

--------------
I wouldn't be surprise if you see fortune 500 companies start creating their own cryptocurrency and use their product or service to back up its value.

For example:
1 FaceBook coin = $1 facebook cash value
1 StarBuck coin = $1 star buck cash value
1 Amazon coin = $1 dollars worth of Amazon credit or $1 amazon cash value
1 Six Flag coin = $1 worth of six flag buck
1 PeaPod coin = $1 worth of groceries at http://www.peapod.com/
1 Zynga coin = $1 worth of zynga credit or equivalent cash value.

... You get the idea, the list goes on from there ...

Big corporates are definitely going to try out this trick, but that is not going to work. Because StarBuck wont accept the amazon coin and vice versa. Everyone will try to accept their own currency which will eventually destroy their acceptability unlike Bitcoin.

dont be foolish with this FUD

no company that makes maple syrup is involved. it is just the altcoin dev's saying that ' one maplecoin per millilitre of Maple Syrup'

but in reality who would trade jars of maple syrup in th post to the coin devs hose, in exchange for maplecoin..

the delivery cost alone would wipe out any profit, ... if it was at all real

One of the main reason they might try out this marketing strategy is to keep their loyal customers for a long time.

It would be exactly the same as the current gift cards that plenty of places already do. Nothing to see here.

If corporations did this, someone would just make an exchange. It'd be no different than gift cards. You'd trade in 1 MCD for 0.9 FB (90% value).

Yes, we are going to do this.
McCoin will have all the features below:
  • 100% instamined
  • Can only be purchased at participating establishments
  • There will be a master key we can use to make transactions on anyone's behalf
  • Only McDonald's restaurants can operate nodes
  • Transaction outputs can only be to addresses that are registered as McDonald's restaurant addresses; otherwise the transaction will not be confirmed
  • The Corporate address can spend more McCoins than it has
  • To own McCoin you must give us your ID and address so that we can report you to the FBI as a money laundering bitcoin user so that we can claim a stipend
  • With your first purchase of McCoin get a FREE FRENCH FRY!
