Title: Some admin decided to delete my posts. WHY?
Post by: (oYo) on May 21, 2014, 04:11:58 PM
This is bullshit. I haven't done anything that I haven't seen other people doing. I wasn't even given a good reason. All I got was some bullshit generic response. If this is how you treat newbie accounts I guess I will have to give up on cryptocoins.  >:(

Was it in a giveaway thread?

Why would you even care that that particular post was deleted?

Was it in a giveaway thread?

Yes

Why would you even care that that particular post was deleted?

Are you kidding?
First, I wanted to let the OP know I added it to my sig.
Second, I'm a newbie and don't have many posts. As a newbie, you are seriously limited. I'm trying to be active and increase my status.

It could also be self-moderated topic so the OP deleted your message not moderator.

Was it in a giveaway thread?

Yes
Giveaway threads have been banned for months.

You only need to post once a day to increase your activity count.

I got 18 messages today. Posts were deleted from several different threads. It was one admin picking on me.

Was it in a giveaway thread?

Yes
Giveaway threads have been banned for months.

Why am I the one being punished? Why go through the trouble of individually deleting my posts instead of just closing these threads?

I enjoy participating. Is that wrong?

If you had 18 posts deleted then you're obviously doing something wrong. If you quote the ones here we might be able to tell you why. I seriously doubt a mod was just picking on you. How do you know others posts wern't  deleted also?

Oh I see. Is there any effort that is favorable to donate to at the moment?

It looks like Earthwatch (http://pnd4pnd.com/pages/earthwatch/) and ISIS (http://pnd4pnd.com/pages/isis/) could use a little more attention.

On that note, for every unique picture of a panda posted in this thread over the next 24hrs I'll donate 10k to one of the pnd4pnd.com funds. If you want a specific fund to receive the donation, just say so.

That one's technically a giveaway, too, though I'd assume that was a mistake.

You have a 36 post count and all but 7 of them have been deleted?

Man, your posts must have all sucked really bad to have that happen.

Hey Kluge, how the heck did you get 1,000 posts more than me.  I am going to have to step up my game.

Ahhh.... Okay, I see, now. That entire thread should have been deleted since they're launching their coin with an indirect giveaway encouraging users to post in their thread for "football coins."

If giveaways aren't acceptable, why pick on me, instead of closing the thread?

No, I had nearly 50 posts and was brought down to near 30.

How/why are you gonna "step up your game?" I guess your status protects your posts.

Zero quality, no info given. Spam. Such responses can yield you a ban (replying to prohibited alt giveaways).

Plain +1's are deleted as well. Report them if you see them. Regarding the pic, again, low quality post/no info/clutter, only vaguely relates through the name to the coin.

Also, please stop posting them all. It's causing clutter. Report posts of similiar content although some mods handle some of the reports differently.

So +1 posts are validly reportable, or is this a possible depends on the mod that handles it situation? I see quite a lot of +1s around and I guess they add little to nothing to the discussion really.

Thank you mprep, for giving your REAL reasons for deleting my posts. I'm new and don't have much info to give. I like seeing pics and other people do to. How do you quantify the quality of a post? I bet you have some "low quality posts" too, but I'm the one being picked on. I guess it's your forum, your rules.

It's awfully convenient for you to say to stop posting the posts that were deleted by you and cluttering my own thread! I guess you don't want anyone else to qualify them.

+1 = I agree, yes, here here, hell yeah, etc.
What's wrong with offering support to what someone else posted by simply agreeing with them? Do you have to give a reason as well to qualify your post?

Apparently so, but it's not that hard to briefly state why you agree. I guess the rules are here to encourage discussion on subjects not just clutter it up with pages of +1s etc that offer very little. If you find yourself agreeing with something someone has said, it's fine to state you do, but offer something else as well, otherwise there's probably not much point.

It's awfully convenient for you to say to stop posting the posts that were deleted by you and cluttering my own thread! I guess you don't want anyone else to qualify them.
I determine quality by several aspects: does it provide an opinion, info, etc., how generic it is, how on topic that is, how many similiar replies are there, what section of the forum that is. I take tips and suggestions from other moderators and theymos, the admin. Also, don't flatter or victimize yourself, I (and possibly anyone) have absolutely no reason to pick on a random newbie. I noticed your spammy response while going through my regular procedure and checked out your post history for possible spam. And I wasn't mistaken.

Posting all the deleted responses would be spam as well since a few examples are enough. If a person makes a thread and starts posting random chars or overall low quality responses, he'll get his posts deleted like any other member posting in that thread. And yes, me and most of us here had at least a few responses deleted - none of us are perfect. Some more (like you), some less. That's how moderation works.

+1 = I agree, yes, here here, hell yeah, etc.
What's wrong with offering support to what someone else posted by simply agreeing with them? Do you have to give a reason as well to qualify your post?
If these useless +1's and similiar responses were allowed, we'd be neck deep in thousands of pages containing these, overwheliming any worthwhile response that actually is interesting.

In most cases, yes. +1's in discussions are overall useless, spammy responses. Before becoming a mod, all +1's I reported in discussions were handled as good reports.

how could the OP not know why his posts were deleted? they were just memes or pics, with terse sentences thrown in.. that's considered junk posting. if you look at the volume of posts made on this forum, you'll see the need to get rid of short inconsequential posts.

I'm not saying my posts were of high quality, even though I did try to make them somewhat relevant and interesting. (ie. I never posted a plain old +1)

What I AM saying is that my posts were not as "spammy" as MANY other people's are. Including mprep, who posts, "bumps".

But you know what? Hey, I'm going to just drop the matter, learn from it and move on.

Have a nice day.

See spammy posts? Report them. Bumps? See the Marketplace stickies, bumps are allowed on your own threads once every 24 hours and that thread is in a sub section of the Marketplace. Boy, you really should start reading stickies before accusing other people. :D

I think the mods think you are spamming images. That's why they deleted your posts. It's no big deal, mods aren't picking on you. Write something meaningful and on topic, it shouldn't happen again.
