Wife and I are in the hospital. She's being induced today (no medical issue, but past due date).
I will have my first child within the next 24 hours!

My friend recently go a baby to, and its great to see the baby grow so fast man.

I know when my son was born I was there watching it all. Damn near fainted when they gave my baby's momma an epesiotomy.

Congrats. May i offer some advice?  Don't name your kid something really stupid like hashtag or something similar. Parent's need to realize that naming your kid something stupid is how bullying starts. Now I get that bullying isn't right, but that's how society works.

Also, if they have to stitch her down there, don't ask them to throw in a couple extra for you.  They don't find it nearly as funny, and you'll likely sleep on the couch for a while, LOL!

While I agree that they shouldn't name their child anything really stupid, I disagree with the name being associated with bullying.

Any common name could very easily be turned into something mean. Take Mark or Matt for example, two very common boy names, right?

Mark smells like farts!
Matt is fat!

Pretty much anyone can be bullied, and having a unique name probably won't signal you out much from the crowd.

I see your point, but I disagree on some points. Yes, any name can be turned into something mean, but some names are easier than others. Some of the names I see people use these days just scream of easy target.

Bullying starts somewhere, I remember back in school it starting with a name for a couple kids. Maybe I'm just over reacting, but I've discussed this issue with a few people over the past couple years, and most seem to agree with me.
