Also, why does "getmininginfo" in the wallet show the networkhash ~10 MH/s but in the pools there's clearly over 100 MH/s? :P

Can you explain your post? This statement would be opposite of the truth. A whopping 6 blocks since launch, out of 129 total.

Yes 100 is the payout until 1 year. We are team of 2.  We wouldn't dump our pre-mine. In few days from now multipools & megaminers would be holding way more coins than us. We are not in a hurry to list our coin in any exchange.  Game development (Android) is our next development goal. With community support its possible to implement new ideas. nowaday, block reward so small are bad, because buyers don't care about that, they always start with the same price no matter whats

in fact all the recent coins(there are some expection) with a block reward so low, have made an ugly end

minimum 10K, so even if the price is 10 satoshi at least you earn something

How is it there are so many miners with over 300MH/s on the Suprnova pool? 400MH/s? How is that possible? Is there some X11 ASICs we don't know about? my 4 card miner pushes out 8 MH/s so... are there really that many people with 40 machines at their disposal?
This almost seems like... intentional instamine by devs...

I was browsing dedicatedpool for new coin to mine as I was doing VERY poor with my hash on LTCX and found this coin. So I read ANN in dedicated and notice bounty for linux wallet:

But reading ANN here, I noticed that there are no more bounty for linux wallet. Anyway I booted my Ubuntu 12.04 and compiled wallet. Then I tried to run it on Ubuntu 10.04 in virtual machine but it failed, as it still needed some libraries. My Ubuntu 10.04 virtual machine is tuned for QT static compiling (i.e, You don't need to install any additional libraries. I spent many days to make static compiling to work :D ), so I tried to compile it statically on Ubuntu 10.04, and woala - my first successfully compiled static QT wallet for linux!!! And Granite Coin gets this honour :)

Yes, the bounty for linux wallet was cancelled, but I will donate for your efforts.

I'm currently trying to recompile completely static version of this wallet, so it runs from live cd without any additional library installation. Currently I'm stuck with leveldb as it still don't want to compile inside client and stays as shared library, so wallet doesn't run on fresh systems / live cd's without installing additional libraries.

This problem affects all linux wallets, so far I haven't seen an altcoin wallet that runs without problems on fresh linux systems. This is fun challenge for me and I feel I'm close to find a solution to this problem. Latest link I posted still requires leveldb and maybe some other libraries, but it works on my compilation PC, I tried sending and receiving coins. I'll PM dev with download link when I'll succeed with completely static wallet version :)

One the most important is the use of DigiShield to prevent instamine-instadump and coin raped to the ground. As a result the coin value has not been susceptible to the wild swings that most alt coins experience. Especially for a straight POW coin.

It did the same to me, after I restarted the wallet it went thru fine.

In Bittrex go to Wallet > Withdrawal history > select transaction > transaction ID and look up in the block explorer (http://www.coinexplorers.com/chain/GraniteCoin) for transfer status. Restart your personal wallet (maybe it was unsynced) and see if that helps.

In crypto only invest what you can afford to lose. Do not raise your false alarm again like you did earlier for one of your delayed GRN transaction. You are responsible for your own actions. Dev unlike other coin dev's isn't pushing for exchanges or pitching sales. Right from the beginning his agenda is simple / no fancy false promises. That's one of the reason I mined granite and bought some. Yes, the prices fell below 1K now. It isn't hurting me. The person who hold's the majority of coins can control the market. As of now, 1,118,600 coins have been minted out.

Lol, of course i can afford to lose them. I bought 25k at 2000 which is basically 0.5 btc. I can afford to lose that. I've made a lot from BC, DRK, and XC. Now i'm buying newer coin that have potential, spreading them all on poloniex and bittrex.

And my false alarm is legit. It took 2 hour for the first two transaction i did to appear on the blockchain, while the third one were done in 5 minutes. This kind of problem is legit to be brought on because slow transaction can hurt a coin.

Im very new to the whole forum thing - but I do have a question.

GraniteCoin - are there any developments happening? If so, what may they be?

I have read the whole forum and see that there has been some shit slinging thats been going around, but Im curious to know what your idea is on the situation and whether you feel there is a future for this coin.

I am also curious what the rest of the forum think.

What does everyone else consider the furture of granitecoin will be?

I understand that SO many are talking about it being a dead coin - BUT like most things - some shaky ground is always a path to better things. Is it not?

GraniteCoin - Im perplexed as to why you havent promoted the coin any further with developments that will bring interest back into the coin. Anonymity was one - but that is a thing of the past now. Are there ideas that can be implemented that would respark interest again?

I guess Im asking these things because - as most are - I mine coins based on the future development AND value of the coin, so Im still quite interested in this coin. I think a great many people still are.

btw - I have an issue with the last 28hours of syncing. It seems it just sits there and does nothing but hang. Any ideas?

I am sorry to know about wallet sync issue. The sync issue was due to less mining activity. People need to start mining GRN for the block numbers to increase, and therefore all the counts will be back in sync again. I promoted GRN much for several weeks until the price fell so hard and it did not make any sense given the coin is simple without any innovative feature.  I am looking to improve the wallet with additional features and maybe tor implementation. If you are a developer willing to help/ suggestions, please pm me.

Please keep this attitude of regular communication, we still remain confident GRN

Well ... Im no developer nor a programmer of any sort - but I am a coin enthusiast and mine/trade various coins on the exchanges.

Dedicatedpool and Suchpool are the main pools I mine from - and can see that there is very little activity on GRN.

I guess with all that has been going on the market (the market being namely us as miners and people) have lost quite a bit of faith in GRN.

BUT - that does not mean its a bad design of a coin or that it reflects poorly on the community of the coin. What it means is that the surface value is lacking lustre and needs to be polished up a bit. Even Granite can be polished and look and solid and smooth as its counterparts.

In the most recent kerfuffle with the issue surrounding the bonus block - that stuns me. Yet a full and valid explanation as to the situations that happened around the loss of network hash and the lack of evidence as to where the funds have gone is yet to be forthcoming. This obviously leads to finger pointing and accusations. It all becomes a badly constructed flame war and slinging match - something that NO coin needs in its marketing.

It IS the PEOPLE that make the coin - not just the design of the coin itself.

So - in saying all that - I cannot contribute much at all in the developmental part of the coin - but I do like the structure and design as well as the fact that its not a POS coin - it relies purely on hash power.

The question still remains - there are many that will be happy to continue mining and trading the coin - but what can be done about resurrecting it from the fire and getting people back to this coin to make it something of value?

A clean slate and some more coins/bounties to be had? Not just in GRN coins - but also in BTC and other valuable items maybe?

A cleaner designed website and some refocus on what is important to a coins longevity- such as a trading platform (sales of products) in GRN and BTC currency?

Im just throwing things out there at the moment as I dont really know the inner workings of the coin itself - but I do still see some hefty potential if you can just get some faith back in the solidity of the coin ... after all - it IS made of rock ;)

As is said above also - current and regular communication with the maket (yes - the PEOPLE)  is obviously the most valuable part - anythign thats just FUD - delete and discard ...

I don't synchronize a wallet.

Krista - the wallet takes quite a while to synchronize due to the low network hash rate.

It WILL sync if you just leave it open for a few hours (and that you are connected to the internet of course) ;)

Mine took 3 hours to sync a few days - so be patient.

Looks like the dev is online every now and then. It would have been interesting to know if he still is keen or if he has other plans..

It seems that some plans are on the table - but what they are, how they are going to be implemented, when they are going to see the light of day and how much they will impact the coin is yet to be seen - if at all.

The dev/owner seems like a very nice bloke. He is level headed and has been set back by a few things - but is also concerned as to what the future will be for GRN. He seems fair and adjusted in the fact that it has been quiet BUT will do what he can for the liquidity and stability of the coin. His concern is for the value of the coin and the community that surround it from what I can see. So a number of things may happen here. It depends on a few things I suppose.

I guess a public announcement will be forthcoming soon if anything does.

Looks like a good coin dev/programmer is going to be sought and a number of ideas implemented if that happens.

I for one would like to see this coin pick up from the lows (which it recently has) and grow into a viable commodity.

Im on his (dev/owner) side to see this grow.

I started mining this coin this week and everything was working great then today the blocks just stopped coming.  Is the blockchain stuck?

I dont think its a block chain issue - its the hashrate. The higher the hashrate the more blocks you can find.

Which pool were you mining from?

I will be back on mining in two days time also - although we are waiting to see what will happen with the coin.

Some background happenings are - well - happening, but nothing concrete yet.

Just keep the miners going and eventually you will get a block or 3 ;)

Correct, I was still doing well after you stopped for awhile but then the blocks just stopped and the diff seemed way too high for the net hash so I wasn't sure if something happened to the coin so I pulled my miners. I noticed the chain did move one block last night.  I like these no pos, no anon, no bs coins, once all the scam coins have run their course and people get sick of it, I think they will come back to solid mining coins like Granite, hiro, and a few others and if they do, now is the time to accumulate.

I totally agree - which is why I like the coin so much.

Like you said - its a no BS coin - which in its simplicity - is quite a solid mining coin.

The coin still has MANY left to mine (about 62.5 million) - so there is still a great deal of growth if it can stabalize.

I just hope we can save the coin from extinction soon ...

This coin is seriously undervalued. It seems the fudding almost killed it. But it can surely rise again. Dev, you need to put together a trading team who can keep up volumes and price. It is done easily now when the price is so low. How about it? Do you have a core of traders who can team up?

Agreed ... its simply a matter of stabilizing and letting everyone know that it is back on track with the right people mining and trading ...

FUD always hurts - both coins and people ... but unfortunately - its not going to be the last time it happens ...

We need DVE interaction, we are more concerned with GRN development, community promotion, if only for the transaction, then the GRN will soon die. Since the launch GRN DVE has not seen any progress on the GRN. Now too many coins, not regular exchange of coins will soon die.

 This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Aug 1st unless the average trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.1 BTC

If there is going to be movement in the market AND you can mine - why dont you all join me on coinking.io to mine GRN and automatically convert the coins to any other currency you like?

I usually mine from two pools - http://grn.v2.dedicatedpool.com/ and https://coinking.io/ ...

I mine dedicated pool when I just want to keep coins in my wallet ... and I mine via coinking.io because it allows you to do both - mine and cash out OR mine and convert (in my case BTC) ...

Just go to this page https://coinking.io/servers.php/ and choose your server then mine from port 6675 ...

In my case - stratum+tcp://us1.coinking.io:6675 - for each of the workers ...

This means that every 6 hours there will be a greater flow of transactions on bittrex and it increases the chance of NOT being delisted ...

Just to elay any doubts - this has been working for me for quite a while now ... and NO - I am NOT affiliated with coinking and do NOT get anything from them ...

I just have been around and seen the sites and find that its one of the more versatile mining/conversion sites out there ... I am sure there are many many others that are good - but coinking is the site I use ...

Granite coin will be under new management from today. User "chrysophylax " is taking over the coin as I am unable to work further on the development for so many reasons.
