Title: USB Hub for Antminers Post by: DoctorP on May 23, 2014, 06:40:59 AM Hey guys, I've been wondering what USB hub I should use for Antminer U1 and Antminer U2. I'm currently using Sabrent 10 usb port hub and I don't believe it's working well because not all the usbs are recognized meaning they're faulty and I don't get the full ghs out of each miner or my hub sucks.

If I bought multiple D Link hubs can I chain them together? That works as long as their selfpowered correct? Should be ok, I wouldnt chain them though, I would just use a different USB port on your computer, plus the power supply that comes with the USB hubs. Keep in mind that of the 7 ports on the hub, only 6 are really usable. So you would need 5 hubs for 30 miners, that extra miner you can use directly into your computer/rasp PI, etc, or grab a 6th hub for it and add more miners. That is probably because the hub does not provide enough power for 10 Antminer U1/U2s. I just ordered this from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/GearMo%C2%AE-Port-Power-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00BZABGWK/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1400989786&sr=8-30&keywords=usb+3.0+hub+aluminum The advantage of most USB 3.0 hubs vs the 2.0's is that they come with a 12 volt adapter. In this case a 3 amp one. So that's 36 watts total power available. Take note that I said most, I have seen some come with a 5 volt adapter. Stay away from those. Anyways, we'll see how I make out with this one. |
