While I don't like to get caught up in the fact that Bitcoin can be a great speculative investment, I'm amazed that I've not yet seen any mention that "Bitcoin was the best investment in 2011 by an order of magnitude." Equities, bonds, commodities... nothing compared to Bitcoin from Jan 1 to Dec 31 in 2011. Every financial magazine in the world should have at least mentioned this interesting fact. In spite of what Bitcoin does in the next several months will be overshadowed my Facebook's IPO. I'm putting 20K in that and cashing out the next day or two. The hope is to at least double my investment. Worse case scenario, I lose a small percentage.
