I know why, the GBP (£) is one of the strongest currency's in the world so why not create the crypto replica!
With the right marketing and development this coin will overtake many established coins very quickly.

Our aim is to have a handful of GreatBritainCoin ATMs in the centre of London before the end of 2014! Trading for BTC and Cash. We are going to have the best multipool ever with stratums in 4 different continents and we will market this coin all over the globe on many different platforms.

There's always going to be haters. Britain is famous for many things. One of them, its fashion. Most of all, what it brings back into fashion. With some top brass investors inside this coin pushing it up that mountain of approval that so many people want we are going to go far.

Any opinion is a valid opinion.

What can we do that gives those from Britain a head start? Bounties will be available when we release the Launch ann.

Launch it at a decent time gmt thatd be enough for me  :)

7PM GMT (Date not yet confirmed) is the time we will be launching. That way it is fair for British people who work. We understand that mining is only a hobby for the majority and many will be working the normal 8-5 hrs so a 7PM launch would ensure a fair launch for those British people in this community.

Getting place

That seems like a failed attempt at a coin. This coin is actually backed by real investors not some guy in his shed with his GPU rigs.

GreatBritainCoin will pretty much be achieving what that coin has ultimately failed at.

The premine will be held in a public ledger, so no one can say this is a dump scam. Also the coin will be made into real physical coins like the BTC ones that will be sold all over the country to get people in the know about  the new currency. As well as the ATM's we will be working towards.

They did Crypto workshops and PR....

So what are you going to do for your premine?

Also any former colonies that mine should be taxed. 

+1 for this.  Let's have a coin with a proper sense of GB humour too.  Doesn't matter if non-Brits don't get it. ;)

Isn't it obvious to you that you can't support a claim that a value of 10000 is "big" without a reference to the total number of coins produced?

Where exactly is "here"? Can you please communicate your real name, address and contact details and can you please ensure that they are prominently displayed on the website.

I strongly recommend that you take the first step in redeeming your coin launch by communicating your real name, address and contact details, it is the minimum standard for UK web business.

As an aside, I find it interesting that you're trying to launch an altcoin with a "GreatBritain" theme when those of us who are actually living and working in the UK are aware that the Union itself could well be profoundly changed in a very short time [1], potentially marooning GBcoin as an anachronistic irrelevance. This is something that any serious investor would need to know.

It's obviously a scam. 
-Anonymous developers who probably haven't even been to Britain. 
-Copied name from a real pre-existing coin. 
-Couldn't even bother to do some simple research.
-No details about coin supply, block reward, algorithm
-Large bounties 10000 coins plus indicating large premine and/ large block rewards
-No details of premine

Anyone who buys or mine's this is an idiot.
