Hey everyone,
This is my first topic and im wanting to try and figure out what some people are paying per kWh.
Iv seen a lot of BTC Mining calculators with the default value of $0.15 USD/kWh.

But i live in Canada and my current power cost's have a average price of $0.0774 kWh.
Now what i would like to figure out is what is the average price people are paying to determine maybe if it would be worth it more for me to mine Bitcoin's then say someone paying more then double my power cost's

Your costs are below average I would say.

I'm in eastern US and mine is ~$0.10 per kWh after I calculate the taxes and other stuff into the total electricity bill.

I've read that the national average in the US is $0.095 (don't recall the date on the article that stated this), but prices can vary a lot depending on area of course.

My price is an average, as since i have a Smart Meter and my power company charges me different rates at different parts of the day.

They break up the day into 3 sections:
50% (12 of 24 Hours) Off Peak Times - 6.2 cents/kWh
25% (6 of 24 hours) Mid Peak Times - 9.2 cents/kWh
25% (6 of 24 Hours) On Peak Times - 10.8 cents/kWh

But if i were running 24/7 the average would be 7.74 cents/kWh.

Back home in Switzerland Electricity costs 21.5 cents/kWh -- it shouldn't be surprising that I don't mine there.

That's nice. You could over-volt your cards at night, under-volt during the day. I imagine off-peak hours are during night, too, so lower ambient temperatures (assuming you leave your windows open) were you to over-volt during those times. Gotta call the electricity provider where I'm moving... They usually only supply oil but have a lot of wells there, so decided to provide the electricity for the entire area where they have oil wells... maybe they'd be open to something like that.

WINTER - October through May:

First 650 kWh: 5.0633¢ per kWh
Next 350 kWh: 4.3443¢ per kWh
Over 1000 kWh: 4.2647¢ per kWh

In the summer, after 650 kWh, everything is doubled due to a/c usage probably.

In Slovakia: 8 eurocents/kWh, year-round. In the night it can be 5.5 cents (if I had it enabled). I am mining right now only because it helps with heating, when it gets warmer, i will stop.

Thx for caring :) I am only mining litecoins on CPU, my GPU is a joke ... but seems it'll cover half or so of energy cost. Not bad.

Lol, Starting mining at a constant 6000 Mh/s and see if the landlord says anything...
*Just kidding.

When you see rents go up, you'll know why. The landlord just averages power consumption across all units and you are splitting the bill with your co-tenants - so in effect they are subsidizing your mining! :)
