You should admit so no one gets the wrong idea about the US - if someone murders a Muslim in the US they will be locked up or possibly get the death penalty depending on the crime. Most of these killings happen amongst people that know each other so it is a shame to see random acts of violence for no reason at all.

I don't believe in obfuscating the culpability for crimes behind anonymous façades like "the government" or "the state". I believe in personal responsibility. The fact that "the state" can "convict" someone and "sentence them to death" is based on peculiar rituals, a belief that these "judges" and "policemen" have special powers because they wear strange costumes and carry shiny badges - it's all rather odd. And the word "execution" is used correctly here. The fact that so many people leapt to the state's defence to say that only the state can "execute" people is both telling, and rather disturbing. Every community should have the right to get rid of the dangerous elements. Judges and policeman have got special rights from the community to act for the interests and safety of the community... and do the dirty job if necessary. This is the right and natural way. However this case isn't about execution this was a simple everyday murder. |
