Quote
On March 16th, Hassan was gunned down in the Home Depot parking lot on Florin Road in South Sacramento. Police say the gunman pulled the trigger because Hassan was Muslim.

There are undoubtedly more anti-Muslim bigots since 2001, I agree.

Well, the headline is misleading.  Executed makes it sound the like gov. did this to the Muslim.

You should admit so no one gets the wrong idea about the US - if someone murders a Muslim in the US they will be locked up or possibly get the death penalty depending on the crime.

Its a senseless and tragic murder not an execution. To attempt to exploit it to make some political point is a little twisted.

Murders happen everyday all across the US to all kinds of random people and races. Most of these killings happen amongst people that know each other so it is a shame to see random acts of violence for no reason at all.

Sad to see that such act of barbarism and extremism exist in this day and age, are we heading back to the dark ages where people were killed just for their religion or believes ? hopefully this is just a random act and not some group in making

i don't think the term "executed" is a proper term to use. he was murdered.. execution is usually done when someone has committed a crime. being muslim is not a crime.

Change the title, it is misleading.

Words have certain meaning and connotations for a reason. This is as true as: Thousands Of Christians Executed In US Each Year

I don't accept that the state has the right to kill people any more than a random guy in the street does.

I don't believe in obfuscating the culpability for crimes behind anonymous façades like "the government" or "the state".

I believe in personal responsibility.

The fact that "the state" can "convict" someone and "sentence them to death" is based on peculiar rituals, a belief that these "judges" and "policemen" have special powers because they wear strange costumes and carry shiny badges - it's all rather odd.

And the word "execution" is used correctly here. The fact that so many people leapt to the state's defence to say that only the state can "execute" people is both telling, and rather disturbing.

Look at his profile:

"Professional anarchist".

He has a fixed idea about the goverment being bad and that he should be left alone living like an animal in the jungle and surviving on his own with no laws.

I wonder if he is saying the same when watching animal planet , the lion "executed: that buffalo.

Every community should have the right to get rid of the dangerous elements. Judges and policeman have got special rights from the community to act for the interests and safety of the community... and do the dirty job if necessary. This is the right and natural way.

However this case isn't about execution this was a simple everyday murder.
