Yes, we hope to have things back to normal to re-launch Wednesday afternoon (USA).

The Groin Coin Team is very sorry for the delay in our launch and the need to re-launch our coin all over again. We were hit with some significant hashing power after our blockchain was compromised immediately after our launch, which we felt threatened our new users and investors to the point, that we needed to upgrade our source code immediately and not risk further complications for our coin. We were running less than one hour before shutting it down.  Yes, Yes, yes - we took a Kick in the Groin!

Moving forward with the upcoming re-launch, you will notice several NEW SPECIFICATIONS for GXG and NEW PORTS (To be announced) to guarantee that everyone gets a fresh and even start.  Please discard all your old wallets, etc. and get the new ones and update your config files accordingly once we post again that they are up.  Additionally, we have upgraded from DGW 2 to DGW 3 further improving our coin during this upgrade process.  Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience and we hope our new start in the next few hours will be fun and profitable for all of you.

Has this launched yet?, I see wallets that can be downloaded. I might CPU mine this for a laugh but what should the config file be named.

Per our previous post, we are re-launching again now.  Hopefully, this goes smoother.  The source is in the same place.  Only the Windows and Mac wallets are on the website, the Linux one will be up there is a few hours.  Whatever you had before this post, DELETE it.  It will NOT work any more.  Download the NEW source and/or NEW wallets to start again.  Please note the DIFFERENT PORT NUMBERS!!!  Have fun with it !!!!

Windows wallet is corrupt just show a txt file

Which wallet??  We are looking at the Windows wallet running fine that we just downloaded from the same link 30 minutes ago......Try downloading it again, it is a zip file that has everything in it you need...

We apologize for OUR error.  We upload everything to two places, one as a backup which is the one we last used and it worked fine.  The Primary one that is linked here did not upload correctly.  We just uploaded it again and downloaded it from our website and it opened just fine. Sorry for the hassle and thanks for being on top of things....

Oldriga, thanks for advice.  That was our plan.  We plan to have a primary download location for everything and a backup location for everything - with links to both.  Usually one is on our website.  Right now, we are just trying to get one of everything up and running and available.  Will get the second download links up in a few days as time permits.

For those that still need it, we have just uploaded a 32 bit Linux wallet to the website.  We hope to have a 64-bit one soon.  We are going to wait a week or two for things to stabilize before launching the Android wallet.

The minerspool.com pool has found 11 blocks so far.  Need more hashing power in the pools.  I have not heard anything from the other two pools as to their status.

We just tried to connect with a laptop to check it out and it worked fine using MinerD version 1.2c using this simple batch file (assuming you already have your wallet and config file set up).  then we got a few coins in a few minutes, just with our laptop.....

Everyone, we need more nodes. That's the reason pools are finding so many orphans, because the wallet stops syncing and it needs to be restarted.
We've found that the wallet is getting a lot of timeouts when trying to contact nodes, so, please everyone who's running a wallet please add server=1 to your .conf file.

FYI, we are working on our own dedicated GXG pool, not sure when we will have it up.  The urgency is not there with so many others up.  We will make an announcement when it is ready and tested.

Thanks all for your support.  Right now, we are running pretty smooth it appears.  Network hash rate appears to be stabilizing between 250MH/s - 300MH/s.  Please do not let that scare you off if you are just CPU mining.  When we were running about 500 MH/s, we put a laptop on one of the pools and were able to bring in about 25 GXG every 2 hours. So by design, the little guy does have a chance with GXG and the pools.

We are pleased that we have 6 pools up now.  We will now start working on some exchanges to get listed on.  Of course, any help with these is always appreciated.  Many of them are by vote unfortunately now - so your help is needed.  As we add any of these, we will list and announce them.  Again, thanks for your support and happy mining!

Some preliminary good news.  We have at least one Exchange that has agreed to list Groin Coin without the voting process.  Once we are listed there, we will post it to this thread and to our Twitter account.

So glad to say that we have been  in talks with GXG dev about this coin being number 1 payment  option on my online pharmacy where all cryptos are accepted.  There will be a lot of updates to the website in the coming  days. We aim to provide top qualitu meds at affordable prices and fast shipping.  Our site is only new but we are hoping to be the leading pharmacy online for cryptos as a payment option.  GXG will be ourfront page coin and we hope to promote this coin further  for future sales in the cryptos world :).

The site is active  but still not up to date as we had  some recent  problems  that we could not finish it.  Mote stock to be added tomorrow as soon as stock  arrives.

We have been talking with several exchanges about listing us or at least adding us to their voting lists to get listed.  We hope both will happen this week.  Being less than a week old, most exchanges are slow to list such a new coin.  However, with the amount of mining (steady at about 375 MH/s today ) that we are seeing and the interest from online retailers in our targeted industries, we think exchanges will soon be happy to have us on their exchange.  We will post the exchanges here when they decide to add us.

We do not want sell offers and trading in this thread at this time.  We are less than a week old and exchanges have not had chance to list us yet - they will.  Please be patient and wait for them.  We hope to have 1-2 exchanges that pick us up this week.  Remember that the exchanges offer protection to both buyers and sellers in the transaction when the trade occurs.  Buying and selling in a forum of any kind has no protections to either buyer or seller.

when to add coin bittrex  ??? ??? ???

We would love to be listed on Bittrex - they are a great exchange as are many others.  We have made request to them already and have not heard back from them.  It never hurts for our miners to make request to Exchanges also.  One that I cannot name yet, has committed to list us this week - just not sure when. 

FYI, we just mined Block #3000 a short time ago.  This means there are a little over 8.1 million coins in circulation now or about 1.6% of the planned total.   Remember, that reward (1024) cuts in half after 128,000 blocks.  Still a lot of mining to go.

Why so secret about the exchange.

It's never a done deal until we see our coin listed - We do not want to promote anything that has not happened yet.  However, we like to let our miners know that we are working hard marketing our coin to retailers and exchanges to help increase the value of GXG.  As soon as our coin goes up somewhere, it will get posted here VERY fast!  Thanks for your interest!

I have tried for 20 minutes to get onto your exchange and it is saying my username is invalid. I HAVE JUST MADE IT FFS!. The website takes forever to load and I have just given up.

We just logged into AllCrypt.com with no issues - it was very fast.  We move some GXG into our account - all completed in less than 5 minutes.  In regards to invalid user name issue, we saw that same problem yesterday with another exchange, when it turns out we already had an account with them when we tried to register.  That is a very generic error to receive, it could mean any of several things.....Sorry for your inconvenience, but we are not seeing any of those issues.

Well, we have identified the problems and issues and are now in the process of trying to get them fixed.  Do NOT worry, we are NOT going away and are here for the long term.  We appreciate your patience and support.

We apologize for the recent problems getting the wallet to sync.  We have identified the primary problem and have a good solution in work.  We hope to have the upgraded source (with a few other minor bug fixes) avavailable within 24 hours or less.  This will require a new wallet for everyone, but all your coins are safe.  So please backup your GXG wallet now please.

We have completed our upgrade to our GXG source code and it is now downloadable from our GitHub account.  We have also updated the Windows wallet to version 1.1 which you can download from our main website.  We are NOT creating a new Linux an APPLE wallet at this time - sometime next week.  If you need Linux, you can compile it yourself for now.

IMPORTANT - EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE, should do the following as soon as they read this....
1) Backup their current Groin Coin Wallet (wallet.dat in the AppData directory) and their config file and save both to a safe place.
2) Delete their current GXG wallet from the existing directory and the groincoin folder from their App Data directory
3) For Windows, download the new wallet - version 1.1 from http://www.groincoin.com/downloads - execute the file and create your new wallet
4) Open the wallet and let it create the new folder in your App Data directory, then move your wallet back where it belongs.

The wallet should sync.  HOWEVER, with old wallets on the network trying to connect, it my be a rough few hours till the old ones are changed over to the new wallets.  We appreciate your patience and support.  Special thanks go out to Hazard for providing the effort to help us make some needed improvements.

If the Pools could post a note here to let everyone know that they have updated their source code and are up and running again, that would be helpful to everyone.

From what we see, mining is back to normal and the hash rate is starting to climb again.

The upgrade wallets work very well, and we that some are back to mining - we are almost to block 7500 very soon.  However, I am not aware of any of the pools who have switched to the new code.  If you were using one of the pools, please let them know that new source code is available and all is working fine with Groin Coin again.

We got notification that AllCrypt.com will upgraded to our new code this weekend - no word from Comkort.  We do have another exchange that we hope to announce this week.  We held off on that one until our upgrades were complete.  For now, we appear to be back to normal - thanks so much for your patience.

With NOMP type pools that is the way it is on all of them.  We have used their NOMP pool and can vouch that it does work and you do get your coins.  Keep in mind that from the time you mine your coins, it takes 120 confirmations before it gets to your wallet - that could take 5-6 hours at best.

Comkort just got the new source code and the market had died as members could not get their coins in.  Now it is working fine.  FYI, GXG was running between 11 and 31 on Bleutrade yesterday. Someone keeps selling a few coins at 3 to keep the price low.  In general, the majority are being sold at higher prices. Rather than dumping coins which makes no sense for a brand new coin, it makes better sense to wait for a better price and let demand catch up with the supply.....

I do not think anyone has a problem with it as you provide cheap prices for others to buy GXG with.  Once our marketing efforts are running longer, the coins will be worth more obviously.  But you are right, if no one sells them, no one can buy them.  Our point was for the price to go up our sellers should like for a higher price.

We need to scrub our list of mining pools, we see the hashing rate has been way up in the past few days which is a good sign.

Well, we certainly hope so Jupiter84.  We are disappointed to see our prices so low on exchanges where miners are dumping at bottom prices.  The good news is that smart people are buying GXG while the price is cheap.  We are now a little over a month old and we have received many very positive emails about our focus and our coin like Jupiter84.  We have also seen our Twitter following grow each day with businesses, big and small, following us that are unsolicited on our part.  These are all in our targeted areas - sportsbooks, sports handicappers, adult webcam sites, online casinos and betting services, etc.  This is a very good sign for an upstart coin like Groin Coin.

So why don't they just sign up and use GXG as a payment system?  Well, those businesses like everything about us and the opportunity that we present.  However, they point to several issues that we hope to be able to fix with your help.....These are the issues that they raise.....

1) Who will use our service with your coin??
2) Your community support (forums, etc.) is very low.  That leads them to believe there is no interest in GXG, which is not really true - we had almost 90MH/s mining 2 days ago.
3) Why are your coins being dumped at low prices?   That leads potential users to suspect something is wrong - what they overlook is that the cheap coins do get sold.
4) No one wants to be one of the first to start accepting a new coin with a limited track record.

After all that, they still love our coin, our concept and follow us on Twitter or Facebook or here to keep track of us.  So while our marketing program (banners, articles, blogs, news releases, paid advertising, etc.) has just gotten started, we cannot single handedly make our coin successful without the support of our community here.  We are not a pump and dump type of coin.  The fact we spent extra dollars/BTC to deliver an X11 and DGW3 coin with a targeted market and 4 different wallet types should tell you that GXG is here to stay for a very long time.  FYI, we have just started our developer on our Android wallet.  No one spends the time and energy to produce an android wallet without a long term plan and commitment to their coin and users.  A hand-held Android app for a coin like ours we think is huge and will separate us further from the other coins who give you just a Windows app and source code.

So regardless of our support here, the Groin Coin team will keep moving forward to grow our business, our markets and our coins' overall acceptance.  It will go a lot faster and make a lot more money for all of us, if our community can help - we do NOT want your BTC or donations.  We need you to help get the word out about Groin Coin and the opportunity we represent in the crypto currency world and our targeted markets.  Each of you obviously saw the similar vision when you mined or bought our coins.  You also know or use some of the businesses in our targeted marketing areas.  Tell them about us, tell them you can pay them in GXG.  The GXG team cannot magically create demand everywhere.  The users of crypto currency and patrons of those businesses create the demand.  As a group, we have the supply side covered.  Help us create the demand, by building a stronger community here and businesses will be more comfortable using GXG for sure.  Again, thank you for your support!!!!

Yes, Comkort is a great exchange for GXG.  Prices are pretty low out there.  You buy now on Comkort for a good price.  You saw the article released the other day and our hashing power jumped up.  We have a marketing company that will be doing a lot more of those among other things.  We have started a Publicity section on the main post here and on our website for article, etc. on Groin Coin that are published.

Well, just because we do not post in one of the forums, does not mean we sit around doing nothing.  While our marketing efforts were delayed a few weeks due to some serious family issues for our promoter, next week should see more activity on the web for GXG when he is back

We like to use this space for major announcements, not to tell you about our day to day activities.  We would hope that those who like GXG would use this space to talk about GXG or potential ideas for using it or where they think it needs to go.  Keep in mind, one thing potential users, retailers and exchanges always look at is our forum activity.  If it is dead, they assume there is no interest in the coin which is not true.  We have 437 Twitter followers as of today - not bad.  Keep in mind, we have other forums going also besides this one.

In regards to what is going on, here is what we can share as for our plans (appreciate you feedback and comments or additional ideas).
1) As always trying to get listed on more exchanges - to increase our visibility and hopefully our market price over time - your voting help on these would be great.  Or your accumulating GXG to keep up the price is a good thing too!
2) We are continually looking for and talking with adult type online businesses in our target area about adding GXG as a payment option - a never ending task
3) We are in the process of targeting the best websites for banner advertising to place our banners on.  Your recommendations are appreciated!
4) We have several articles released on several websites and many more will follow - it takes a while to get them written, approved and published - this is an ongoing effort.
5) We gave an interview yesterday to a "vice" type website about our coin and how we stack up with other competitors - THEY CAME TO US FOR THE INTERVIEW!!!
6) We have plans for an android wallet, but have delayed that for a few weeks.  We have the programmer on standby when we are ready to proceed with that.

Additionally, we have to keep the coin running and watch the pools and prices on the exchanges.  So beneath the surface of this forum, there is a LOT of activity and things to do.  We can always use more help and support.  We appreciate your support of Groin Coin!!!

Thanks for your support - You know owning a coin is not easy.  There is much to do to make it successful - we appreciate your kind words!

We are seeing a huge surge of followers in our target marketing areas on Twitter, which is great news.  People and businesses who do not normally deal with crypto currency are following us - either out of curiosity or a genuine need for a payment system in the near future.  They consist of sportsbooks, fantasy sports types, adults stars and more - quite a diverse group and all seem to be in our area of focus.  We have a new Users Manual in work due out in about 2 weeks that will be directed to the new crypto user showing them what Groin Coin is and how it can help their business.  This is not a very fast process, but building client confidence and trust, while showing them the benefits of a Groin Coin Payment system is our key objective here.  Additionally, we are also starting to run ads in various markets to gain visibility and interest.  Some of these have better results than others.  While we are just on 3 great trade exchanges now and our prices are low, this is not a major concern to us.  We are here for the long term and a low price means new users will have cheap prices to acquire a lot of GXG to use for their potential business as well as smart investors who recognize a good long-term buy opportunity.  If you look at some of the major crypto currencies, their price is as cheap as ours and they are still going.  In other words, our price is not indicative of our solvency or resolve to make our coin successful, it just means we have not yet established the demand that we are aiming for and have more work to do.

So to summarize, here are a few things to watch for over the next few weeks from Groin Coin.....
   1) GXG Users & Training Manual
   2) Banner Farms - over a dozen colorful banners for many markets
   3) Listing on additional exchange (you can help here by voting on a few)
   4) Advertising showing up on targeted marketing websites
   5) Increased focus on Twitter account building

coin has great features but will die if it does not go pos. diff is way too low and the name of the coin should be changed too.

I just downloaded the wallet and it synced nicely. i was solo mining it because i could not find a pool an got quite a lot of coins until i realized that i was the only one mining it and that it takes 120 confirmations before i could spend it. now i have a load of coins in my wallet that are not confirming and i don't want to  mine further because i don't want to drive the difficulty up too high.

I will try to get this put up on a pool in the next couple of days.

Also, why would the name need to be changed?

It has not been mined for 13 days.  That is when the difficulty went through the roof when someone threw too much hash at the coin.  Now it is stuck and will require a lot of mining to get it unstuck.

Somebody threw a gigahash at it, and drove the difficulty through the roof.

I have just talked with your developer as well.  He has full intentions as per his very recent posts, of updating, refreshing and continuing the coin to include some much more current features.  HOWEVER, he finds himself locked out of this thread for some odd reason after his recent posts and not able to communicate with you. Once his access is restored soon, he can better communicate the direction he would like to go.   I will ask him about the links to the code and post them if he gives them to me.  He has put a basic informational website up with a contact form if you feel the need to communicate directly with him.

There have been numerous attempts to either pump the coin or take it over.  The last from a newbie who just basically copied what the original developer just posted yesterday on Twitter.  Yes, for some reason, the OP and GroinCoinGuy account is locked for unknown reasons.......those posts which appear to have been deleted appear to be a scam or an attempt to take over and hijack the thread...   Do not fall for this!   Check the original Twitter account at http://www.twitter.com/groincoin for the real status of the coin.....The developer says he will post a link on the website for the WIN version and the source code within a few days.

I've been in contact with the dev, his account has been locked out for over a month, and he's been trying to get it unlocked with no success.

Whoever is messing with the coin, honestly that's bitcointalk's fault because the won't unlock the dev account.

It looks like the re-launch is no joke and the real developer is bringing Groin Coin back to life - Good for him and all of us.  From the updated website at http://www.groincoin.com, here is I assume the new coin design and I see that the Twitter and Facebook accounts have been updated to include this new coin design as well.

I wish to thank all of you who have helped keep this coin alive and moving over the past several years - and to damm315er and guncoininfo for being my voice when I was gone.  Personal circumstances dictated my absence.  But I am back and ready to move the coin forward again.

For those that question if I am the original owner/developer, you only need to check http://groincoin.com/gxg-news/.  For whatever reasons, my absence disqualified me from having control of my original account here - so we will go with this one - doubt you will forget the name.

One thing that I can confirm as move forward, is that we will upgrade the algorithm from X11 to X17 most likely.  X11 has served us very well and we prefer to just stay with that series of algorithms - especially the one that is the most current and most ASIC-proof.  Speaking of mining coins, do we have any active pools for GXG that are running?  Please let me know.

Great news on moving forward and the website is starting to look very good too!

Among other things, we will be developing our own mining pool for GXG users to use to mine as it does not appear that there are any functioning pools, only a few solo miners. We hope to have this up and running quickly.

For now, our first upgrade for Phase I will occur in a few weeks and be very simple - bring the coin current with technology in its current state and re-establish the blockchain with the new revision and update features.  This will prove the real GXG team is back and moving forward and that we still have a stable coin.  While this is going on, you will see the infrastructure surrounding Groin Coin (website, mining pool, etc.) start to take better shape.

After that, we have much bigger plans to do a lot more - to be announced.  But to do more, we need a more stable coin with an active community.  Once we think we have those, Phase II of the Groin Coin re-launch will be unveiled and promoted.

Yes, a GXG dedicated pool would be a great first step and much needed.

Well, trying to re-launch a coin with new code is not as easy as we planned and taking longer than expected - for that I apologize.  The plan is to do this in two phases.  Phase 1 would be to advance GXG to the X17 algorithm and get the coin infrastructure (mining pools, exchanges, wallets, etc) stable and active.  Then we would lay out plans for Pase 2 that would transition the coin to a POS type coin with Masternodes that would provide a great payment solution for our 3 target markets and investment opportunity for our long time coin holders.  I thank you for your continued support during this transition period.

The reason of the massive drop at BTC/USD is that the DNS servers of MyEtherWallet point to hell, and some russian phishing site is presented instead of the real one.
Harvesting user logins/passwords and dumping their funds on the market all the way down. The site itself was Not compromised. It's a lot cheaper to buy Groincoin now. :)

Agreed.  With the price of GXG being so low and some productive work being done to relaunch the coin, it would seem this is a good buying opportunity.

OK, Groin Coin is now moving forward and has a fully operational coin to use.

1) The website update continues - we will put our initial roadmap up this weekend and add some more to the site at http://www.groincoin.com
2) We have a fully functional mining pool that is finding a lot of blocks/coins at http://www.groinpool.com.
3) We have all four of the wallets online at the new website.  Their location matches where we had them previously and the OP of this thread. Current version is GXG V1.1.
4) We are very actively traded on cryptopia.  We have seen our daily volume range from 0.25 BTC up to 26 BTC and everywhere in between.
5) We have GXG V1.2 in work with our developer now.  It is NOT a major upgrade.  However, we are bringing the coin current with Bitcoin Core 0.16 as well as a few other minor updates to make GXG current with technology.

At that point, once the coin has stabilized and the majority of the users on running the new code, we will plan out the next phases to make GXG a more sought after coin for our users and investors.

We do have GXG V1.2 in work right now and it will advance the coin out to bitcoin core 0.16 and make GXG Segwit compatible.  We are testing this version now and hope to have it out next couple of weeks or sooner.

We are still plugging away on V1.2.  Our developer has had to step away from things for a few weeks and is picking back up again now.

Yes, we do have Discord, but we have not launched it yet.  We probably will make that available when GXG V1.2 comes out that we have in work right now.

We now have GXG Core V1.2 up and running successfully.  This is going to be a hard fork as it upgrades everything all the way up to the equivalent of bitcoin core 0.16 and will be Segwit compatible as well.  Keep in mind this is just Phase 1 of the planned transition of the coin.  The intent of this phase is the bring Groin Coin current with technology and provide current users with a nice stable and secure coin that can be used as-is today.  Phase 2 is a much bigger jump as we transition the coin to a PoW/PoS Hybrid coin for bigger and better things.  We really appreciate your patience and support throughout all the issues that we have endured.  We think it will be work the wait.  Please watch this forum and our Twitter feed for updates when the new code is available for your wallet upgrades.

The hard fork in our new code is causing us some network issues and we are trying to get our arms around it.  As a result Cryptopia has halted our trading which is fine and to be expected to protect the wallets.  We ahve the new code running on our pool and hope to release it to Github and the website shortly.  Thanks for your patience and support.

Well one hurdle at a time.  In the short term, the goal is to provide a technologically current, safe and secure coin with an infrastructure that all users and the community can count on.  We firmly believe that GXG V1.2 will be that once we get it released shortly to Github.  It is running fine now on the pool.  Next we have a huge and growing (not groin) following on Twitter.  Once we relaunch with the new code, that coupled with our very recognizable name should cause some explosive growth in followers and hopefully the very depressed share price.  At that point, we will have completed phase one and the coin is usable as is.  At that point, we will start to work on phase two which would transition GXG to a more investor friendly architecture as a PoW/PoS hybrid coin that we hope will include masternodes.

While there are several coins out there that support porn, gambling, etc.  There is not one that supports the entire ADULT entertainment world.  GXG will do that.  We appreciate your support and feedback!

We are pleased to report that our new source code for GXG V1.2 is available on GitHub now.  We are requesting that all pools and exchanges update to the new code as soon as possible.  Please see the GroinCoin.com website and our Twitter feed for confirmation of the location.  The wallets will be released in a few days.  We had an error in the version number and updating them before releasing them.  Cryptopia is aware of the new code and will updating to the new one which is Segwit activated in the next few days as well.
