Title: What actually goes in the 'Marketplace' forum?
Post by: hilariousandco on May 28, 2014, 10:06:09 AM
I'm talking about the part at the bottom that just seems to be a mishmash of various threads?

Also, I want to create a thread linking to all of my listings on the marketplace so I can put a link in my signature to it. 99% of the listings are physical goods, but there's one or two that are/will be digital. Which forum would this go in? Would it be ok in Goods or maybe just the Marketplace section since it's a combo? I may advertise/list additional services I can provide at a later date as well, so please bear that in mind.

Hmm... Not sure about that. It'd seem pretty out of place there. Personally I'd put it in Goods but would like clarification from a mod.

I will create a rep thread at some point but I actually need to sell some shit first haha. This is one of the reasons why I want to put a link to my threads in my sig. Threads get buried and forgotten about there pretty quick, and this will constantly advertise them, so then people can just look and bump whatever they're interested in themselves.

If you're selling physical items you'd have to place your listings here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0
Unless your selling computer hardware in which case it goes here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0
For your digital stuff you can place it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=93.0

However, for the sake of simplicity if most of what you're selling is physical I would just stick in the Goods sub and all in a single thread. I doubt the mods are going to have a heart attack if you have a couple of digital  items in your mostly physical item sale. Plus it means less links in your sig - easier to advertise.

I'm aware of where the individual threads should go and they're already in the correct/respective subforums, but just unsure where the thread collection of them all should be put, but I'm sure you're probably right about the mods not having a heart-attack though haha. And yeah, that's the idea: one simple link in my signature advertising a few of the things for sale and people can click on it if they're interested and have access to all the stuff I'm selling. You'd never have to bump your own threads then as well as there's a constant advert everytime you post.
