A little poll about your pricing propectives for bitcoin.

For a short time perhaps.

I doubt it will even touch that.

I think 2 dollars is touchable.

2 dollars is a sure thing, 95% probability.

5 dollars is 50% probably.

10 dollars is 10% probability.

25 dollars...you're kidding me? 1% probability.

50 dollars, .05% probability.

All it needs is a slight increase in actual usefulness.

It could be snowballing. Higher price rises interests in vendors, who start selling their goods for btc, which brings more ppl and so on

Even though there are on the order of a million times as many dollars as there are bitcoins?

An incredibly small percentage of those dollars are part of the Bitcoin economy...

I don't think this is the big rally that will bring us to 2---but maybe the next one will be---or maybe the next one after that. Before December? I'm almost certain.

I don't even think the USD will see out the year  :P

$1k to $2k would not surprise me over the next 5 to 10 years. In fact if bitcoin is around in 3 years time, I'd say a Two Thousand Dollar Bitcoin is inevitable within the next decade, barring canned food for for an AK.

Yeah... a few hours ago I was wondering if we'd reach GBP parity within the year.... now I'm wondering if we'll reach it today.

If this isn't a bubble, I don't know what is.  The price has been outside of the daily Bollinger bands for two days, and outside of the hourly ones for 6+ hours.

Okay, I'm happy.  I bought in again at a reasonable price.

I probably shouldn't joke about trying to manipulate the market.  It was really obviously a joke to me (I'd only sold 4 BTC, I wound up losing 0.50), but nobody could have known I didn't really have anything to lose, and there are other people on here who are really serious about manipulating the market.

You mean like someone claiming they are about to sell more BTC than exists? ;)

I don't think this counts :)  The trade was for 20btc on a low volume market.  If I traded 10btc to a friend for $3/btc would that count as the price hitting $3?

I think it would, if you can convince us that this trade really happened and that you and your friend didn't fake it.

I don't think it would: I gave a friend 1 BTC for nothing, so bitcoins are officially worthless?

Just for the record: Six days later, the all-time high BTC/USD is 2.4$.

Anyone want to revise their vote on the $20 poll? :D

$20 still gonna be real tough without a big player getting in there.  That's a lot of Bitcoins to buy.  I think a lot of people might start cashing in if it gets above $10, which should slow things down.
