Title: FPGA vs GPU
Post by: ricardo07 on May 29, 2014, 10:11:23 PM
Hello, I have some questions about Hardware to mining SCRYPT COINS, Mining with FPGA (ztex usb-fpga module 1.15y) or CPU+GPU(AMD), if is possible to show the reasons for the choice (MH/s; KH/s; energy consumption).

FPGA is way more power efficient than GPU/CPU, but the initial costs may be higher.

Anyway I wouldnt mine with GPU/CPU/FPGA right now, better go for an ASIC.

thanks xingqiaoyin, another question, the asic Bitmain Antminer S1 that mineram bitcoin (SHA256) can mine other coins that use the same algorithm( sha256)? ASIC that this mining litecoin (Scrypt) can mine other coins type Scrypt

thanks again xingqiaoyin, your answer open my eyes, so if I had innosilicon a2 I can mine Litecoin, anoncoin, tagcoin, dogecoin, all uses SCRYPT
