Title: suggestions on buying mining rig hardware in the UK
Post by: nereer on April 22, 2011, 10:23:02 PM
Hey

The wiki on suggested mining rig hardware (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_rig#Bill_of_materials_-_dedicated_miner_-_rack_mount,_dual_ATI_5970) is very useful but it's very us-centric. Anyone out there got some good suggestions of hardware and a good vendor to buy it in the UK.

I was hoping to build something like the dual 5970 rig described in this thread (http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6081.0) (he's getting 1.2Ghash/s - 700 watts). I might buy the rest of the system (case, psu etc.) new and then try and buy the video cards on the cheap second hand.

cheers

I suggest not buying anything from cex.io, their maintenance is high and they are overpriced..

Does 2011 have anything to do with new graphic card?
