Good to see you got started trading. I'm no pro and I always lost in trading and a big time as I only tried ALT trading. But your BTC/USD trade seems good; not much risk involved. Good luck

Here's a tip, stop trading such small amounts and just put your whole 0.1 down and hold for a bit. You'll make much larger returns than 1mbtc that way.

Have you studied technical analisys or are you just trading for fun?
If your main goal is to take easy profits just buy all that you can afford, put the btc in a cold wallet and sleep for two-three years.

When you will wake up you magically have gained 10x or 100x of your starting $ investment.

My biggest tip is one that gets repeated a lot around these forums:

Don't gamble BTC (or any money) that you aren't willing to lose.

In this situation you could make a great trade and double your BTC, or you might lose out. Either way, good luck!

Hi,
Very nice start :)
Not bad at all, but if you want to make some money you must risk a lot more and hold for more time. But must know that you are wlakingo n the edge ;) Be careful! It is addictive!

Where are you trading? How long did it take you to make 147k?

It might be worth you investing your BTC in an alt coin traded in BTC only i.e. TRC, FTC or XPM.

You can leverage on them to increase your BTC stake. TRC is usually a good one to go for as it seems to shift more than FTC, probably due to the thinner order books.

Yes, this is like outside btc world, dont gamble money you need and dont gamble because you need money.

Looks like btc-e.com to me, judging by the snapshot. The BTC/USD pair.

But you will have no risk in that case.
You could lose in trading easily, especially when you have little knowledge or experience. :)

Stop. Hold. You will lose trading. There are people out there way smarter than me and you that will eat your btc for lunch. They have no emotions, and will suck you dry for having any. The best investment I've made was putting my btc in JustDice, and backing the house. I'm creeping up on a year invested, and I've made about a 40% ROI, and my original investment is as nearly as liquid as holding it in my own wallet. Requires a bit of trust though.

That is indeed a pretty good way to earn some more bitcoin from your bitcoin.
You just need to remember not to invest in some new bitcoin casinos. :)

Wow, nice job buddy!

Can you give me some tips? Also, how come you guys state just to hold, when he made a quick profit on what he did?

Do you guys have experience in this? whats your profit on just holding then trading?

He made a 1.4% profit. Wow.
Tip: Buy Low, sell high.
Trading has many risks involved, and that "profit" is too little for the risk. As you might see, the price of bitcoin is rising, so I am profiting by just holding.

He earned 1.4% profit in just 5 days (which is indeed not bad), and the profit in terms of bitcoin (so he earns on top of increasing price as well).

Having said that, I don't suggest anyone to day-trade, unless you have confidence, knowledge and experience, and you are only using the money you can afford to lose.

This is true, and I think that confidence is absolutely critical. Knowledge and experience can boost your confidence, but you need the balls to hit the buy button too. I've missed out many times for not going with my instincts.

Never lol.
Even for relatively stable period (like in first half of 2012), you can still find price going up or down 10% a day from time to time. :)

buy and hold is the safest way.  ;)

if u want to take the risk go on in trading but never more u can afford to lose.

day trading and scalping require skill and luck, i remember that at beginning i made some btc in a month but in one day i lost all the gains

be careful

I think you're day trading pretty well and I would suggest you to read this: http://vantagepointtrading.com/tutorials/short-term-strategies

without a real strategy you're almost gambling.

Identify the main trend, buy according, and hold. If you keep buying and selling, you probably will lose your money.

Or do arbitrage. Buy at one exchange, sell higher, at another.

btc-e
And I did only those trades which you can see at my picture, to get 147k.

But now I withrawed everything because it is very risky to trade because btc is going up so fast.
I made my profits to 550k before that.

This is actually THE strategy to have. Don't doubt the buy low sell high mindset.

Or you could do like me - buy low buy high.

This ^

I've been buying whatever I can, at whatever price. I've been buying fairly steadily since about $850... all the way down in to the high $300s. I'm keeping track of everything, and sitting at about 120% of the USD value of what I paid.

Trading and gambling is different, since you can base the first on previous prices and on the trend.

They always say: Don't trade what you can't afford to lose.

Past that, just don't get too emotional. Don't chase momentum/price. Buying when the price is dropping is better than buying when the price is rising. Those are my general rules, anyway.

Trading is considered as a gamble, Bitcoin value might fall to a low amount and you will lose everything. Trade only with a small amount.

Great, at 1 usds a day of profit, your perspectives of becoming rich are very high.

Now seriously, avoid making public your profits.

If it was a huge profit, you maybe calling the attention of hackers and even the IRS. If the amount is very low, well, it can be a little pathetic.

Trading involved huge risk.

Making good profit for 1 day, 1 month or 1 year doesn't mean you won't lose it all on next trade.

Most traders lose eventually.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean that one can't hone their skills and be a winning trader. Another point is that when your ahead, it's good to take profits off the table. It felt real good taking my initial investment (and then some) off the table from bitcoin after the last bubble.

I won't lie, when I've "missed the boat", I have bought high and sold higher. It works out in strong rallies, but certainly preferable to buy on the way down or near the bottom. :)
