Title: Selling my signature [Lifetime for 1.5 BTC] or [1 Year for 1BTC]
Post by: miffman on May 31, 2014, 09:15:26 AM
In need of some bitcoins, so I decided I'll do this. Selling my signature FOREVER for 1.5BTC. I have been constantly posting since last year June I think, I don't see any stopping. This is advertising for a very long time  ;D

I also have a bit of rep that people can vouch for, and it was difficult to build that up. If you find some way to escrow, I will be more than willing to do so. PM  ;)

Maybe 1BTC for 1 year? I just need 1BTC, so I'm up for negotiation

There will be no real way of escrow if you need BTC badly.

The most sensible idea for a person who wants to buy it would be to pay it to you over the course of a year , around 0.125 BTC per month. Even if you scammed , it would be a pretty decent service.

If you have any collateral , that could be given back once the signature has been kept for sufficient time , that would be great. But that would not make sense as you could easily take out a loan for the same amount with the collateral.

What I'm getting around to saying is that you can't really get instant money for this service which has to be provided over a long time without sufficient trust and if you have collateral , it doesn't make sense for you to do this.

If theymos could somehow lock my signature, would that be sufficient trust?

I don't think theymos will do that just for you, or he may receive all kinds of requests soon...

I'll speak to him. Hopefully there is some room for a budge. I'll need people interested before I speak to him though.

Even so that won't change the problem that you could just get the money and disappear and start posting with a new account. Hypothetically you could even have bought this account. I'm just saying that there is no guarantee with this purchase.

I could give out my full credentials to the person buying my sig.

On the other side imho that would be great enchancements if person could lock his signiture on fixed duration - so anyone running signature campaign could check his peers.

Nope, I doubt at that price... :-/
Is there any guarantee that you'll keep on posting in the future? o.O  And are you providing your personal info to the buyer of your sig?  lol

I can definitely give my personal info to the buyer. Also, if I stop posting it means I'll be labelled as a scammer, and there are already people that have my personal info and have confirmed that it is in fact my valid info.

You want like upfront payment of 1.5 BTC but how can you guarantee that you'll keep posting all the time?  You already have a lot of posts but you still have to post because It's very unlikely that anyone will see the old ones because they'll be somewhere in the middle of the thread so you need to post fresh posts and I doubt you'll do that for a lifetime so you shouldn't call It lifetime something like 1 year should sound more logical. Good luck selling your siggy space.

Well one way is to offer my credentials, which I did. If I scam you, you could report me, and even find me. If there is another way, please let me know.

I considering selling it for just 1 year, but I don't think anyone would be willing to pay 1BTC for that, since that is how much I need right now.

But thanks for the advice

I very much doubt theymos will do this.

I don't think you'll get an offer anywhere near what you want as there's no real guarantee of how many posts you'll do etc and signature deals could always get banned at some point. How fast do you need the money? You could just earn it from a sig deal if you put in the work.

Oh, and I don't know if it'd be something you'd be interested in but you could probably sell your account for upto 1btc. Plenty of people buying and selling them in the goods section.

Your asking price is way too high for the signature space.

Well that depends on how many posts he made. You could earn 1.5btc back in a month with a Snr Account on a sig deal pretty easily, but obviously there's not much incentive to post when you've got an upfront payment and that's why people rarely do these sorts of deals.

Op, have you thought about asking for a loan and promising to make x amount of posts on the sig deal until its paid off with interest? Maybe someone would take a punt on that.

Not everyone is spamming like you all day long perhaps?

I'm giving him some options on how he can earn the money he needs which is more than you've done.

I'm definitely not willing to sell this account. Rep is way harder to earn that BTC.

I could carry on doing normal sig campaigns, but I'm gonna be busy for a month and a bit, which is why I'd prefer to get paid and post in the long term.

A loan would be difficult since my collateral are all physical bitcoins and other valuables, something I would have to ship. And it is already a pain dealing with customs everytime round. But thanks again for the suggestions, keep them coming lol  :)

How about 1.25BTC for 2 years and 4 months?

How about 1.25BTC for 2 years and 4 months?

I'll just jump in and say no on behalf of MOST of the bitcointalk population.  Simply because there is no way you can guarantee that you'll keep posting and stay active for the next 2 years, lol.  And your ID doesn't exactly refund the buyer if you get killed in an accident, now does it? ::)

I'd say if you really wanted to "sell" your signature, stick with weekly/monthly deals.

Good Luck!

How much money exactly do you need and how soon ?
That information would help more.

Can you deal with 0.8 BTC ? Is it for rent or irl expenses or do you need anonymity on this topic?

How fast do you need it , ie , is it a real life crisis that needs it immediately ? If so , how much time do you have ?

I guess it seems that I won't be selling my sig. I'm gonna have to make a different plan. Anyway, thanks everyone for the help  :)
