Title: Setting up a dedicated Bitcoin Node on ubuntu
Post by: vm1990 on May 31, 2014, 09:55:21 AM
OK for a change im almost a noob on this one but he's what's happening

Iv seen a few people complain about the network needing more full block chain nodes so I decided to set up a mini vps 1core 1gb Ram 25gb HDD, and now the hard part I'm windows not Linux person I get angry at Linux ( sudo - apt -get stuffed) is as complicated as if got but it either Ubuntu or nothing so question time

Quickest and easiest way to set up bitcoin core with maximum connections?

Thank you

Also if this works out I'll have almost unlimited number of these servers available

(save this script on your vps, make it executable and run it)

I don't think 25 GB will last for very much longer though.

Thanks I'll get on it this week, 25gb should do for the time being the vps's are small and quick to deploy hence the specs I'll be adding much more hard drive space as these servers will be easy to expand as I need them, iv gone with pure speed for now ultra fast connections cheap but fast ssd drives
