Title: [WTB] 5970, redemption run.
Post by: Electricbees on February 11, 2012, 01:42:03 AM
Looking to buy 5970's again, PM with price, and details.

Letting my old thread die, because all it contains is proof of my blunders.
Looking to try this again fresh!  8)

5970s suck, don't waste your money,  Buy 7000 series.  I heard they run on smiles, poop gold Bitcoins, and replenish the rainforest with each block solved.

(all you dorks are driving up the prices on my once cheap 5970s).

The prices are inflating like balloons... I still wouldn't pay much over 400 for them, but ebayers think otherwise...

I hate Supply and Demand. That is all.

I've seen a few in the last few days go for 550+

I think those 3 or 4 that went for that much were just flukes.  Seems like the rest of the listings that are still active are around the 400-450 range.

Although if they consistently went for 550+ I'd gladly sell mine.

Agreed. I found some cheap ones on there yesterday that were sub-400... Bought them up instantly. :D
But otherwise, there seems to be huge demand on the non-diamond cards... XFX especially.

The diamond and OEM cards arent as popular. Asus is my fav then sapphire. I dont like XFX any more cause they dropped their double life time warranty.

Are you fucking kidding me? I don't think I like them anymore either...

What is worse is they removed all reference to it from their site.  Their warranty page no longer mentions it and instead mentions the new limited warranty.  Nothing in there about double lifetime for cards before xx/xx/xx.  Nothing about double lifetime anywhere.  Kinda hard to sell an existing card with double lifetime when XFX pretends it has never exited.

How they handled it was very very lame.

That warranty made them the best brand to have. Now they are no better than any other brand. They are getting alot of heat for having such an amazing warranty and going back on it. Im still wondering if they will honor cards that were sold with the life time warranty.

New in box for $450-$500? I'm out. :o
Ebay's been kinder on the 5970's these last few days... Closing brand names sub-$400.
