Post by: lijpert on February 15, 2012, 04:47:45 PM
Hello, dear bitcoin members

i have a qeustion maybe it is a stupid qeustion but i wonder if i have my gig setup right ,

this is my miner thing note its just my home pc

ati 5780 x1 1gb

i mine like 90 mhash , is this normal or am i mining on my cpu cause i know videocards mine more , i have been mining now for about 7 hours and only generated 0.01015306 BTC in my eyes that would mean i would mine like 0,03 btc a day maybe i,m pretty inpatient but would love to know what you guys think about it. i use guiminer is there a setting i have to change to increase my btc ratio? thanks in advance for the reply

i hear a lot of people mining like 2btc a day well in this rate i would never achieve that more like a week for 1btc lol

Never heard of an ATI 5780?  Are you sure of its name.  Also you might want to mine Litecoin on your CPU while your GPU mines Bitcoin.

5770 should be getting around 200 MH/sec.  Try changing some of the cgminer settings like intensity.

Also, run one of the ATI tools to make sure your GPU clock speed is correct.

5770 should do ~215 MH depending on clocks
Then put that number here:
http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator.php

And you get ~0.16 BTC per day on average.

Of course much depends what pool you are mining on, there could be a big variability, some days making nothing, others 3-4x as much.

If you want a simple to use miner, check the one in my sig.

Go visit the cgminer thread:

You're going to have to experiment with different settings.  Just don't go crazy; try them one at a time.
