Title: The 666 joke is old...and lame
Post by: Elwar on June 06, 2014, 09:25:51 PM
Ok we get it guy...the price of Bitcoin goes to 666. So clever. You really showed 'em.   ::)

Can we get back to moving over $700 now? Maybe you can wow us with your 777 joke.

Or we can all laugh at 1337 for minutes.

Let the price be what it wants to be. Complaining doesn't change anything.

I don't think he's talking about the price.

I think it's about the fetish that some people seem to have with the number 666.

It's like adolescents giggling every time they hear the number 420.

They think it makes them cool.

It's a sign from the universe.  Bitcoin.  All currencies are nothing but greed.  Selfishness rather than selflessness's.

It proves that bitcoin is the mark of the beast and will be the coin of the new satanic world order. It is real, not like a 420 joke, I myself managed to make two 666 printscreens, and I'm not 24/7 cheking the graphs.

420 was the police code for busting someone for Marijuana possession. The stoners found out and went with it.

The only reason it "keeps hitting 666" is because someone keeps building a wall when it hits that number so that it will stay that number as long as possible. You even notice it trying to go to 666.66 over and over.

Someone with a lot of bitcoins has deemed it his sole purpose in life to sell at that number to make a statement. Like 420.

That actually would be kind of fun if you had a ton of Bitcoins
Market wants to go to 700 to 800 dollars
One remaining whale saying No your staying at the market price 666.66 till I say when
That said (if that was the escape position)
I Would have put the wall at 777.77 then look if its a casino thread or a delivery thread  ;D

420; the smallest number divisible by 1 through 7

What about 210?

I don't think 4 is a factor of 210.

I can't wait for the price to gravitate to 1337. I'd trade at 1337 over and over, buy, sell, back and forth because it makes me feel cool and gives me a false sense of importance that I could never achieve otherwise.

The value is going up, time to see it bounce off of $666 again.

666 + 420 = 1086.

Surely there is a hidden meaning in that, I can feel it

That part about police using is BS. It was group of stoners who created it not police.

A widely discussed story says that a group of teenagers in San Rafael, California, calling themselves the Waldos, because, "their chosen hang-out spot was a wall outside the school", used the term in connection with a fall 1971 plan to search for an abandoned cannabis crop that they had learned about. The Waldos designated the Louis Pasteur statue on the grounds of San Rafael High School as their meeting place, and 4:20 p.m. as their meeting time. The Waldos referred to this plan with the phrase "4:20 Louis". Multiple failed attempts to find the crop eventually shortened their phrase to simply "4:20", which ultimately evolved into a codeword that the teens used to mean pot-smoking in general. Mike Edison says that Steve Hager of High Times was responsible for taking the story about the Waldos to "mind-boggling, cult like extremes" and "suppressing" all other stories about the origin of the term.
