I want to sign in to a website to get my stats. The site is asking me for my bitcoin address then a message then a signature.I know my bitcoin address, but don't know what to put into the message and signature boxes. Then I don't understand how the multibit software on my computer is going to sign those boxes on the website to get in I am very confused.

What it's asking you to do is to sign a message. The message (which you should be given) is something you input into your address to verify you own the address. To create the signature, you need to go to (all in menu bar) Tools->Sign message. Input your Bitcoin address and the message you're given, then click 'Sign Message' below. Copy the text that appears in the 'Signature' box and paste it where you're asked for a signature.

Edit: If you aren't given a message, then just make one up and use that message in the signature and on the website.

Find your address in MultiBit. This can be done by going to the Request tab. Your address is at the bottom of the 'Request' page, under the text 'Your receiving addresses'. Copy your Bitcoin address by double clicking the text below 'Address', then copying by doing command+C on mac and control+C on Windows. This is the address that's in your wallet, and the one that I think you want to use on the website. Use this address when you're asked to give your Bitcoin address to the sign the message in MultiBit.

The multibit wallet address is different from the coinbase address that I use on the website the website gives me this message when I try to sign in " Invalid message, signature or bitcoin address" and the message is what I am given from the wesite so it should be correct?

Coinbase addresses are not yours. You don't have the private keys for those addresses. Coinbase has them. So you can't sign a message for any of that addresses.

You have to give your MultiBit address to that website. If you can't change the address, you have to create a new account.

If I'm not mistaken, the Coinbase address is the one you send your Bitcoins to as a deposit.
