The type of gamer you are is based on which types of games you like. For example i like adventure games, therefore i am an adventurer, a friend of mine loves cars games so he's a drifter, another friend of mine is great at platform games so he's a platformer. Anyway, i want to see what types of gamers are there.

I'm a 4 minute gameer.
buy game on ps3, play for 4 minutes, return to store for 85% value

cod4 I pkayed for months and months tho, but the others was a few mins at best :(

Open world games are my passion, stuff like GTA and saints row.  :D

I'm a multitype gamer, I like car simulations, point-click adventures, RPGs, old emulated games, flash games, beat'em up games, sport games, first person shooter games, all in all I don't think there's a type of games I don't like (I can play mahjong too) ;D

i only play 1 game.. heroes of newerth on PC. don't like console games anymore, not since ps2 vs. xbox days.

i tried it back then, but the graphics were bad (dota 2).. might have been a video setting or something. i guess i'll check out the youtube videos. are heroes as imbalanced on dota 2 as they are on hon?

I'll play just about anything if it's good, I do get a lot of gaming done but I'm actually quite casual, if you try to funnel me into a grind game and claim it's 'hardcore' then I'll just tell you to fuck off :P I have the time to play games in short bursts and stuff but not do pointless stuff for hours and hours.

I use a game simulator to play old nintendo games. I guess you could call me a dinosaur.  ;D

The guys who did Endless Space are making Endless Legend which is like a mix of Civ and Fallen Enchantress.  I'm playing the polished Alpha (Steam) and it's pretty good.

Well, actually i love playing PC games too, especially FPS game.
Mobile game succeed to give best gaming experience for puzzle, RPG and MMORPG. But nothing can beat the PC FPS gaming experience!

I'd call myself a hardcore gamer. I've spend a respectful amount of money on buying a PC and I really enjoy fast placed action games. I mostly play competitive multiplier style games lately.

Open-world RPGs are my gig. I also like turn-based strategy games like Civ, Heroes and XCOM. Former Hardcore gamer; I can't spend my whole free time on games like I used to anymore, for some reason :(

I like RPGs and co-op multiplayer games like L4D2. Also enjoy playing on emulators of old consoles/computers, they used to make crazy games back in the day.

I like MOBA games, does this make me a MOBAer?

I like coop games best doesn't matter if it's against computer opponents or people. Things like Left 4 Dead, Portal2, Orcs must die, Killing Floor.

I try to limit my death in any game i play so I tend to camp and not help the team so much unless im playing with my freinds that want to work as a team  :D

The best games are those who are not realistic, imho. What's the point on doing things which can be done in real life when you could beat goblins in an alternate dimension? :D (Zelda: A link between worlds)

So that might make me a Surrealist Adventurer.

But I used to always play shooter games, Till i found World of Warcraft.
My first rpg wich I still play now with Wildstar.
I also still play Counter strike GO as my only fps.
And I casually play League And hearthstone to.

i remember playing everquest over a decade ago.. compared to today's MMORPGs, it was super fucking hardcore. that's what made it a miserable experience, but also a great one.

I'm still into my turn based strategy games like Civ and XCom.  I tried Skyrim and it was fun for a couple days and then I got bored.

You should try indie games, like Stanley Parable, To The Moon etc.

I'm an open world gamer/action adventure gamer.

Because IMO open world games are worth the time, they have tons of contents  ;D

I love action and adventure games.

I am a big fan of Adventure games. I also a big fan of FIFA. Most of the time i spend playing FIFA. Need for Speed is another favorite game of me.

 I like scifi games like bioshock and dead space, so I guess that makes me a scifi gamer  :D

i love Call of duty but i also love rpg's like elder scrolls. also racing / sports / Grand theft auto is another big favorite.

I like adventure games like super mario galaxy but pretty much all mario games as well games like minecraft so im not sure what kind of gamer i am ???

I like games with good stories in them so I can get creative. Heroes of might and magic is also a game I enjoyed at one point.
Oh, and know when I come to think of it everyone PLEASE try Tokyo jungle on PS that game is just awesome! ;D

Most games bore me these days but i still enjoy some.

I like storyline games, that is, games with good narrative, regardless of what gender.

I don't, however, like open world games with no mainline story.

Only exception was civlization series, that I was addicted when I was teen.

My most played games kinda reflect this, Civ 5, GMod, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Recceter, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas
So yeah, I'm actually thinking about getting a 3DS because of the amount of JRPG's on the platform.

Well mostly I play MMORPG on any online game. Making myy character stronger and better, pwning newbz, competition.... I feel kind of lonely when I play ofline games :(

There basically isn't a type of game that I DON'T enjoy. I guess I'm just an all rounder, though I love me some open world action fo sho. Gonna buy GTA V as soon as it comes out for PC.

I play FIFA a ton, and a little of other console games. I'm not into nerdy ass PC shit. I hope none of you are too.

Games that take a relative set amount of time. Good examples: Heroes of Newerth and Lineage 2. I can login on heroes of newerth, play one game, and know it will not take more than one hour of my time (99% of the time). I can login to lineage 2, do my dailies, and any PVP I am feeling. I don't like games that I tend to play on hours on end (call of duty/other shooters come to mind).

It doesn't work like that for me. In a shooter like Battlefield a single map round ( depending on the number of tickets) usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes, so it doesn't go on and on like RPG. I always found it hard to play RPG's because it's not divided into any rounds, you can always find something to do in game.

I am an hardcore gamer, I can't play a game only few hours a week, I HAVE TO grind it and become one of the most skilled in it.

I play nostalgic games that some how still work on my laptop, like Doom, and Quake 1. I also play Starcraft 1 (not 2, maybe later.) Apple 2 emulated games.

I used to play online games, like MMORPG, so  .... but those took too much of my time... Got to a high level necromancer on EverQuest 1 a long time ago, and PvP'd (duel) challengers. Was fun, but next time I do that, I'll make it include a gamble or bet, so it becomes professional instead of amateur. If there is a next time.

I play casually, and it offers a lot of fun, it's really nice to play such well built RTS game frmo Blizzard.

I am like free roam games the most, and MOBA's like League Of Legends. I spend 6 hours a day playing games :P

I don't think so. They are MOBA games. I like strategy games like Age of Mythology, Age of Empires, Sid Meier's Civilization etc. but i don't like MOBAs.

that's why i avoid playing now.. because once  i started no one can stop me.. i can play 24 hours straight without sleeping...
the last one was diablo3. and i have no time to clean myself, eating habbit change because i need to levelup etc.. my wife always mad at me because i am spending more time in playing than my family. but luckily sad news happen. I change my O.S from windows 7 to windows 8.1 hahaha and didnt know that once i install new O.S the username/password that saved in my pc will be gone. and i dont even remember the email that ive used and password. haha so thats the end. haha ;D

I'm a PC gamer. I've played the big games of the past 14 years from every genre, but my favorites are 1. RPGs (multi or single player) 2. MOBAs like Hon and Dota 2 3. FPS games. I played mostly shooters (CS 1.6, etc) when I was younger, then transitioned to more RPG games and played WoW for 5 years, and lately I'm mostly playing Dota 2 and a few RPG games here and there.

Action/Adventure and FPS. I'm mostly an action junkie when to comes to gaming.

Console gamer, play games like FIFA 14.

i like open workd and startegies, but play also shooters.

strange thing is  I like shooter only when enemies are people, if ther ear emonsters I dont care for shoothing, in that case I prefer slaying.

And yes, Story and atmosphere are importatn , much more than detail of textures...

MMO games that keep my addicted, and FPS games as well. I like DotA 2 mainly, I like all nintendo games, and the only thing other than these 2 genres/categories is Portal 2, which is a puzzle game (normally I don't like puzzle games). I can play everything (except those stupid sports games) and enjoy it.

Where is Amnesia and Outlast on your list? Both maybe more recent that all of those, but they are the best IMO.

I play newer games on the PC, mostly ones that my friends play. (Skyrim, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Loadout). The most fun I had was putting COINOPS on an original xbox. Is that gaming? Maybe I could get off playing AutoCAD, lol. Shout out to all the retro games like Master Of orion, Quake, Descent, 4 and 8 bit games. I enjoyed them back in the day, now they're fun as screensavers for TV.

I like freeplay games such as GTA(Grand Theft Auto) & Adventures as well,I like arcades also but freeplays are the ones i like the most

principally single player vs ai, or some sort of adventure games, some multiplayers co-op are good too for me

I like old FPS (UT99, 2k4, quake, BF, etc..) and used to play them far too much. Pretty much cost me a job many years ago.. these days I don't play any games. Probably for the better.

I'm a PC gamer, but I like 3rd person games with no guns (swords and stuff), playing it on a gamepad ( and that corresponds more to console games, imagine the irony :D ). I also like stealth games (recently played Mark of the Ninja, awesome game).
