Title: I'm new to Bitcoins and can't seem to buy any...
Post by: madrigal on February 19, 2012, 09:19:03 PM
Hi All,

I'm new to this whole Bitcoin thing, but I love the concept!  I have downloaded a Wallet and registered with Mt. Gox and Bitmarket (so far) and am keen to buy some bitcoins.  However, it seems so difficult to do. Is there anywhere online where I can buy bitcoins from a trusted organisation with a Credit Card or Paypal?  Am I missing something?  By the way, I assume Dwolla only works in the USA - is that correct?

Any help/advice/reassurance most welcome,

Cheers,

Madrigal

MtGox doesn't take paypal or credit cards.  A roundabout way is to go through VirWoX exchange.  You can buy linden dollars (SLL) with paypal or credit card with several currencies.  Then you can buy bitcoins with the SLL.  Otherwise, you can check out bitinstant.com that has various transfer options.  And Dwolla is only in the US.  Good luck.

OK, I visited bitinstant.com, but it doesn't seem to list paypal as a payment option or allow the use of cards - is that right?

Also, can one send Bitcoins from Virwox to my Wallet??

It doesn't look like bitinstant takes paypal.

You can withdraw from VirWoX to any bitcoin address.  They charge a fee of 0.02 BTC per withdraw.

How to buy Bitcoins with a credit card:

Quote
Account Opening: FREE

Monthly Account Maintenance: FREE

SEND Transfers to another SolidTrust Pay Member or Merchant: FREE

Deposit Funds into Your SolidTrust Pay Account
(allow 1 - 5 business days for receipt of funds depending on the type of deposit)

Bank Wire Transfer = $15.00 to $20.00
Money Order/Cheque/Bank Draft = $2.00 to $5.00
Direct Bank Deposit = $2.00 to $5.00
Account Funding and Payments via Credit Card = 5.5% to 6.5% + $1.50 per transaction
INSTANT & Real Time Bank Transfers = 4.5% to 5.5% plus $0.25 per transaction
https://solidtrustpay.com/fees.php

Then from Solid Trust Pay there is no fee when sending to Mt. Gox.

For Paypal, it's a two or three step process.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Solid Trust Pay to Mt. Gox is handled by AurumXchange. Verify with AurumXchange before making any purchases.
https://www.aurumxchange.com/contact

Edit2: 2/23/2012 - Solid Trust Pay to Mt. Gox exchanges at AurumXchange should resume in a week or so, contact AurumXchange for updates.

Yeah, I agree.  SLL/VirWoX works pretty well, but if you are in a hurry, the fees/rates are pretty steep.

If you're in Europe, http://Bitcoinmarket24.com may be an option for you if you're looking for instant delivery of BTC. We're not offering CC or PP purchases though.

Thanks for all you comments guys - much appreciated.  Cablepair offered to sell me some if i can get him cash over the net  - but that is not proving easy due to European Banking Regs.  I must say, it's easier to trade gold - but I'll keep trying!

If you really want to buy BitCoins instatnly, by using paypal and such, check out virvow (google it)

it's originally a USD>SLL (second life money) But you can trade SLL for BTC there too. Downside to this is that there's alot of fees included (PayPal>VirVox wallet, USD>SLL, SLL>BTC, BTC>BTC wallet)

I buy BTC for about $80 a time and end up paying about $.40-50 more than current market value per BTC.

http://sms2btc.co.uk Does, and until 6th of March, there's a 100% bonus (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64793.msg773593#msg773593) as well, so virtually no fees for mobile payment to btc (for a limited offer).

 Hello!
Could someone help me? I am a beginner.  4 days ago I got a wallet on Instawallet. org and this wallet had certain Bitcoin adress  for receiving money. I gave that adress to Financial Company, exchanging currency, to transfere some money in Bitcoins to this wallet. They transfered money 11 hours ago and I checked this transaction on  Bitcoin Charts and blockchain.info.  This transaction has been completed. But when I get into my wallet I find that "Balance -0 Bitcoins"  and I see that Bitcoin adress for receiving money has changed. Why is that? Can I do something about that?

Did you received your Bitcoins yet? Where did you exhcange money for Coins?

Most of the times it takes up tu 2/4 hours to receive Bitcoins on your Online Wallet.
A private wallet is faster if your wallet is 100% connexted whit all the peers.

For security reasons evry time you receive bitcoins on a Btc Address your Btc Address changes Automaticly.

aleha, I recommend you check your browser history. Instead of a password, the unique URL you get when you visit instawallet is how you access your BTC. If that URL is in your browser history (or if you use IE, in Content.IE5\index.dat) then you can get your bitcoins back.

Hey... how long is the delay with uksash really, or is this just once again a rip off ???will i ever see my money on my paypal account?

and when you start your answer here with :PLease why are you in PANIC there is no need!! " after 4 days of hearing nothing from u?? i filled out the form on your site twice.. no reaction.. you just started to react now, making it public...Anyway, for You there might be no PANIC, but for the people spending their last mmoney and get ripped off.... there is a need to PANIC!!!!!!

Subject: Ukash Exchange

Dear XXXXX ,

We try to convert your Ukash into Bitcoins in a few hours!
Because of mass exchange orders from Ukash to Bitcoin there is some delay!
Please respect this, and have some trust! or dont use this exchange form Again!

Why do you write such message when you said 3 lines earlier its no valid code, which it was.

Hi,

If your read my email to you carefull you see that you get thing wrong because it was a replay of a early email where i said i try to convert and the follow up email said that your Ukash voucher was not a valid one.

And if i say that your 20 GBP, Euro or what ever is not valid than he is not valid!! Why must i Scamm somebody for 20 Euro?? I handle Big Ukash orders whit good trused customers evry day whitout any probs!

And once again i never received any Emails from you!?

There are also cash-in-the-mail services, many of these have a good reputation as well.
