Title: Best Share with an Antminer U2
Post by: Rewok123 on June 10, 2014, 11:03:56 AM
Hi everyone,

What's your best share with an Antminer U2?
Does anyone found a BTC block with a U2?

My best share at this moment is 193K.

I was just wondering if anyone ever found a BTC block with less than 10 GH/s.
I know that's nearly impossible to find a BTC block. It's like playin the lottery ;)

Have I found a block with my U2s?  Nope.  Am I trying?  You bet.  I solo mine with my 5 U2s.  Running on a Raspberry Pi, there's virtually no cost.

Best share I've seen on one of them?  98 million.

Lol, easy mistake to make especially if you're under-caffeinated. But you do know that you have "u2" in your very own post. ;)

johnnybravo0311 - Did I read correctly?  You Solo Mine with a Raspberry Pi?
/..
I am looking for info on Solo Mining with a Raspberry Pi - But all I seem to be able to find is "Pool Mining".
How do you set yours up for "solo Mining"??

he may just use bitsolo.net    easy to do.  it is a pool that gives the block maker the entire block   ..    they have paid one block so far.

http://bitsolo.net/

http://bitsolo.net/pool-stats/

up side easy to do

down side  === the pool operator may be able to rob you if you hit a block.

Note :  most any pool operator can do a no payout of coins.

if bitsolo does that  and the person that hit the block talked about it here it may kill off the pool.

I just use the Pi to run the mining software.  I have 5 U2s hooked up on a USB hub, which is plugged into the Pi.  I run bitcoind on a MacBook Pro, where I also run my own local p2pool node.

I don't think the rPi is powerful enough to effectively run the full BTC node and also have the mining software on it running as well - but I have no proof on this.

If you got a large enough SD card, you could test it out by compiling the bitcoin node from source and firing it up.
