Title: Miner animation
Post by: tarrant_01 on February 20, 2012, 08:58:17 PM
I had an idea to sync an animation like this to your hash rate for each miner. Would anyone know how to do this? I know that AS can pull data from the internet if it's stored on a server. I don't know how to do this though. It would simply be a matter of scaling the animation speed to a preset hashrate (1 Mh/s = 1 fps, 1 Gh/s 30+ fps).  The sound is just added for effect.

Edit: credit goes to this file for the animation: Link (http://www.majhost.com/gallery/RandomRebelSoldier/Sprites/Characters/miner.png)

Where will it be used.  If used somewhere indirectly (i.e web forum) the easiest method would simply to have multiple pre-generated animations (running at different speeds) and return the apropriate image.

Good question. Initially I thought it could play on a lcd screen attached to a BFL unit ;D. But I could see it plugged in to a pool page for your worker status.

I know, it's nothing great, just random idea.

I think I'll add a yellow coin spinning up into the air on the hit.

LOL....can you use swf's for an avatar? I doubt it. Maybe as a .gif but then no sound would come through.
