Title: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: neofelis on June 12, 2014, 07:22:33 AM They're selling all sorts of coins for relatively cheap prices. Seems suspicious to me. Does anybody have any experience with them?
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: hilariousandco on June 12, 2014, 07:45:22 AM I haven't checked the site but the old adage if it looks too good to be true then it probably is may apply here. Don't be fooled in just by the cheap prices as this is usually a classic hook.
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: loewen.brad on June 12, 2014, 08:29:59 AM They're selling all sorts of coins for relatively cheap prices. Seems suspicious to me. Does anybody have any experience with them? Well... if anything... they do take major credit cards and paypal. so you've at least got some buyer protection there if they don't deliver. I also checked the better business bureau and ripoffreport.com for anything pertaining to them. nothing came up. A basic google search brings up about 6,000 results. Not sure if all are relevant, but it looks like they have a decent presence on the interwebz. A whois lookup turns up a bit of a discrepancy, though. The registrant and admin info seem a bit... off. They put their address as being in New York. But they listed China as the country where they're located. A lookup of the country code (+86) they gave with their phone/fax numbers backs that up. Also, the exact address they gave doesn't exist in New York City, where they claim to be located. Based on the whois alone, I would say it seems a bit fishy. If you choose to use a credit card, go buy yourself a prepaid card and only put however much you intend to spend on it. That way you won't get screwed if they decide to go rogue and dip into their customer cc database. Good luck. And if you do make a purchase through them, post a report here on the forum. Thanks for all the input and advice. Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: dwma on June 13, 2014, 06:33:51 AM They spammed the hell out of bitsharestalk.org and the links don't even have affiliate codes. I'm talking like 20 posts on every forum. Pathetic. Post by: jabo38 on June 14, 2014, 08:03:10 AM Somebody with a brand new account just posted a link for Coingoo.com on the NXT forum. The coin offers were really cheap! Within a couple of minutes the post was taken down. I am guessing it was spam. I came on here and this is the only other information I could find about that site.
Looks too good to be true. I could have made 30% on arbitrage turning around and dumping them. If Coingoo was so happy to sell coins, why wouldn't they just dump on any regular exchange? Coingoo.com is so blatantly a scam. Like I said, they hammered bitsharestalk.org. Every forum. They did not act professional in the slightest. I'd give them benefit of doubt if the links had affiliate ids. There is no way it could be legitimate. Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: TwinWinNerD on June 19, 2014, 02:25:02 PM They just posted to /r/NXT. I removed the link at it is 99.999% a scam. They can't sell 25% below market rate.... come on...

Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: hilariousandco on June 25, 2014, 08:33:22 AM They're doing it here too. They pop up daily. Another one just this morning: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=664925.msg7503396#new
Just report them if you see them. Hopefully the text they post can be added to a blacklist to auto-ban them or something. Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: gravitate on June 25, 2014, 01:30:26 PM nobody has actually confirmend them as a scam though have they?
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: technoshaman on June 26, 2014, 09:00:56 PM Hello All!!!
I got ripped by these guys last night!! I have no coins to start forging, Im a noob, so in my desperation I read the message posted in the forum and payed USD$56 for purchasing 1000NXT... of course I didn't receive anything!! not even an e-mail confirmation. Any thoughts on what to do? Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: hilariousandco on June 26, 2014, 10:07:10 PM How did you pay for the coins? If you used a credit card or PayPal you should easily be able to issue a charegeback.
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: mare on June 26, 2014, 11:06:15 PM can't believe silly me got scammed by coingoo as well :'(. Thought Paypal would protect me, but should've know better. They closed my claim saying that they cannot track virtual goods ::). Well, if they think they cannot use the blockchain explorer then why do they permit a non-verified account from China to sell cryptocurrencies in the first place. Paypal has enabled these scammers to run their nice business. And now they protect them. If Paypal let's them take out the money then they are accomplice to coingoo's scam. Issued a Amex charge back now. Hope that will work. Keep far away from coingoo.
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: gravitate on June 27, 2014, 05:25:11 AM Well someone had to do it to confirm it was spam. Nothing surprises me about PayPal. They banned my account and blocked my funds for selling physical bitcoins I make because they considered me as high risk. I had never even had a dispute apart from so wine doing a charge back on me after they received a coin. However they let these guys do what ever they want taking people's money. I know it's not a lot but if you send me your nxt account by pm I will send you 100 coins to make up a little for the loss if you don't get any luck with PayPal that is first.
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: ciocgun on July 04, 2014, 02:42:25 PM hope with screenshot paypal could approve my chargeback
Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: dwma on July 13, 2014, 04:46:04 AM Is paypal really enabling these scammers ? That doesn't sound possible unless somehow Paypal itself can't get their money back anymore. Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: ciocgun on July 14, 2014, 08:26:11 AM i've converted into a paypal claim.
The reply of the site was: "virtual & digital item N° di tracciamento virtual & digital item" we will see what paypal will do Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: Forexperiments on July 16, 2014, 09:44:56 AM So basically paypal protects scammers
If you sell bitcoins legitemately and a scammer asks for a chargeback => the scammer goes away with the money If you sell bitcoins scamming, and the legitimate buyer asks for the chargeback => still the scammer goes away with the money ??? ??? ??? Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: ciocgun on July 21, 2014, 05:56:44 PM yes guys, paypal support scammers.
they refused all the claims. do not use paypal anymore Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: gravitate on July 22, 2014, 02:46:31 PM www.scampal.com
They banned my account for selling physical bitcoins when It was me who was scammed twice by charge backs. They are total scum. Rant over Title: Re: Coingoo.com Anybody heard of these guys? Post by: Forexperiments on July 22, 2014, 10:47:21 PM In my opinion they try their best to protect scammers in bitcoin transactions because in this way "nobody will trust bitcoins"
I hope they will go bankrupt one day.... |
