Title: Scrypt Profitability 2014 +
Post by: damiano on June 13, 2014, 03:20:44 PM
With all the scrypt asics coming, what is everyone going to be mining with these?  Profitability is in the shitter and no one is making scrypt coins anymore.  X11 and X13 are the new thing.

Do you think "scrypt coins" are just taking a break because its summer?

Unless you plan to mine ltc I dont see a point, or am i missing something?

x11 seems to be best right now as x13 profit has dropped like 3x since few days back..

X11 and X13 are uber crap.

Not even profitable to mine with GPU's....

Yeah, right, so you suggest we'd all start mining scrypt again? Or why not SHA? Seriously, X11/X13/Jackpotcoin/Talkcoin/any other exotic algo, are the most profitable ones for GPU miners ATM.
Not only does it use less power and generate less heat, they also don't have the competition of überasics, maybe an FPGA here and there, but that's about it.

Actually, the newest trend is just to keep on inventing algo's. Let's see where that will bring us ;) Mining still has a bright future, even for you, if you know what you're doing.

I don't really know what I'm doing.  I just read and do.  Read how to setup a mining rig with old GPUs and did it.  Read about profitable coins to mine and did it.  I don't really call that knowing what I'm doing but I still do it, regardless of what the future may bring.

In the last week I believe script n  was the most profitable. Not that it was super profits mind you. X11 and x13 seem to go sky high with hot new coins then they die off again until the next big pump.

Too many auto switching algo program, now the profitability is almost on par for all algo.

Quark algo also consumes less power, similar to X11

Even scrypt can be profitable if you can get Asic for right price , but scrypt is dead for GPU and even x11 , x13 are following the same path unless you mine the coin and dump it before whale dump begins .

Multipool.us is STEALING my Dogecoins??? Sometimes when I refresh the screen (because it does not show my "real time updated" balance), my unconfirmed coin balance decreases and my confirmed coin balance stays the same. Any idea why this is happening? Are they STEALING???

Even scrypt asic now is hardly profitable, all scrypt coin price is dropping from the massive dumping..

I've always suspected with so much unsold hardware, the Scrypt ASIC manufacturers are propping up the price of Scrypt coins.

Of course there's no way to prove this.

Scrypt coins are now hammered by asics and regarding profitability it is very less.

Are there any algos that are robust to ASIC mining ? so that it provides the equal rights for all miners?
