Scrypt has proven it's longevity, and when merge mining, you want as many options as possible to mine, meaning Scrypt's the right choice. Also, we're not aiming at instant adoption, so we're not making some X69 crap to get pumped and dumped. Not to mention, our implementation of merged mining has been implemented in two other cryptos that hired me, plus 4 others independent of me.
