Interesting thread, I would agree that its going upward short-medium term.  Today was just a correction and the adoption will come with time.

Very cool analysis indeed.  Thx for sharing.  XMR has got great technical uniqueness as well, which is very appealing.

Nice price move for bulls to .0055-.006 range.

DEPTH:
80K XMR / 80 btc
67K XMR / 125 btc
56K XMR / 164 btc (today)

Crazy move on depth as the balance has moved from 50/50 XMR (in thousands) at rougly .003 to 25%/75% at double that.

We'll use this ratio as a measuring stick for later price moves (EG: Looking for something like 25k XMR / 300 BTC at a price of .0001 would be continued bullish movement. If it doesn't keep up not a good sign.)

CHART:
Stayed above EMA except one dip. strong bullish trending.

HASH/DIFF:

Jump to 7.4 mm from 5.5 over past 2-3 days. Continued adoption.

Can't find the link for Mintpal voting but currently #4.

Speculation on GUI miner and Mintpal voting seem to be current drivers. Anyone got anything else upcoming folks are interested in with Monero in a nutshell?

Thanks brother!

I'd like to warn everyone that whales are definitely at play on the Monero market.

The strategy is to set a huge wall and dump in one direction - causing a run on the price. Then, simply eat up all the buys/sells that go down and then reverse course - wall the other side.

Unfortunately, this scares a lot of people away from the coin, and I think it did just that yesterday. Demand has really stabilized and it killed the trollbox "buzz" in favor of Monero.

Afraid the bull rally is over at least for now. Shame on whoever did that.

I prefer just to swing trade and tout coins for weeks or months rather than day trade  ;D

I am pretty bullish.

Price: $ 3.15

Cap now: $ 4,646,695 == place 15   (two weaks from now, monero will be a Top Ten coin, giving more exposure, trust, attention ...)

lots of development, diff going up, hash going up etc.

danger of creation of too many weak CN coins is banned, as it seams its community consensus now that Monero and PoolBerry are the only legit CN coins with future

Tough day for XMR.

Bids down to 80 btc / sells to 64k XMR.

Currently at .00475 and downtrending? Could be a chance for some cheap XMR later guys.

Maybe even below 0.004 but I doubt it.

Seems all the other "buzz" coins are attracting attention away (BBR etc).

However if XMR lands a "slam dunk" piece of news I bet it will see big gains.

my guess is the short attention span pumpers have moved on to the new flavor of the day.

i'm not selling any XMR and i will buy if it goes lower

signs of life in Monero despite no major annoucements.

I bet a lot of the attention went to "Crypt" which is up to 0.0023 from previous support at 0.0008, 0.01, then 0.0015. Nice work to anyone who rode that.

In any case, I'm going to start monitoring "nearby" monero depth as I'm not sure if Poloniex provides full depth chart data (seems to be limited on main page).

Currently 14k XMR (78 BTC) sell support within 0.0062
Currently 15.5k XMR (62 BTC) buy support within 0.0035

Price currently 0.0045ish after bouncing off 0.004 and looking at a possible uptrend reversal.

Here we go, despite Cloak being today's darling,

Bigtime improvements in XMR's walls today:

72.52 BTC buys in range.. 100.68 btc sells in range.
Also price is up 27%

What's next for XMR when it hits Mintpal?
Cloak and Crypt both doubled..

Those two was added in surprise, Mintpal usually do so in purpose to cause big pump. XMR would be almost priced in because people know it will be listed on Monday at last. The biggest deal is more exposure, more people will know about this coin.

The only 'advantage' I see with Monero is that it is scarcer than Bytecoin.

However I see two big disadvantages;

It is second run to Bytecoin
It doesn't have any differentiation to Bytecoin (At least Litecoin had scrypt to compete with BTC and even that is not enough apparently)

Monero is different from Bytecoin. It's code has been optimized.

Bytecoin also had a 80%+ premine....Monero has no premine, and no instamine.

Exactly, monero is bytecoin without the baggage!

that a pretty big advantage when you consider hardly anyone is using bytecoin.

monero has created 7% of its expected money supply

bytecoin has created 85% of its currency

This is just as bad as Quark. Same reason I will never buy any.

I'm not that stupid to fall for an insta-mined coin especially if it has a cap on the amount of coins ever to be produced.

Very interesting thread.  Haven't really heard of Monero before now.  Will have to look into it a bit further and see if my friend can pick a few up for me. If it's on cryptsy yet.

Usually I think that the first to develop the tech should be the biggest coin.  In this case it would mean bytecoin should be the most valued.  But really 85% premine is terrible.  XMR is one of the few examples where a clone is seriously better than the original.  XMR has been improved and has a better distribution.
