Last time I checked, Android dominates like 75% of the market, while iOS is less than 20%, and the rest is mainly windows.  LAST time I checked.  Which operating system do you prefer?  *This is regarding mobile/tablet devices.

i prefer androind tho i am an ios user and i know all of its disadvantage ios can reaaly be useful when it comes to security of its user but android have a lot of things to do and explore while ios has it limitations cant wait for my samsung s5 from saudi arabia  ;D

Well if you have great taste and self respect and a functioning brain, then iOS.

Have used blackberry, iPhone and android phones, have not tried windows phone. I like android more out of the three, mainly because of its openness. I can download, edit, transfer and use any file type with any apps just like a desktop OS without much limitations. Cannot say the same about iOS.

Android is the most customizable, but there are many apps for ios that are far better than android apps as, you will just lost in googleplay store with testing what app is most fitable to you
If you got money for iphone you should definitely buy one

Must mention the stats you are sharing are just for smartphones/tabs market and only talking about OS for smartphones/tabs. If we talk overall Windows dominates the market.

For mobiles/tabs I prefer Android as well...! Android is not restricted like iOS or Windows are, iOS has some loyal fans and is one of the smoothest OS , Microsoft is trying to develop their Apps platform further for  smartphone market to stay and compete in market.

I use Android but i prefer Jailbreaked iOS, Google Play Market is so bad, there are lots of spam, useless apps but App Store is clean.

I voted for android. Not going to buy anything from Apple.

I have iPhone now.
I might buy Android next because I don't like 5s.
But it depends about that how good iPhone 6 is.

Yeah So clean that they even refused to include bitcoin wallet apps :p Good to know that they realized there mistake and finally accepted that fact that it will demolish there repo with bitcoin economy.

I wouldn't use a non jailbroken iDevice, if you jailbreak your device there will be no limits.

I voted iOS because is most comfortable, light and fast !

Having used both iOS and Android, I can safely say the ONLY thing I have noticed that I prefer iOS to Android is the application market. A few of the popular apps everyone is going crazy over come out on iOS first and already have lost their hype by the time they come out on Android. In every other aspect, Android is superior imo.

but some of them is not free  :( but you can get for free in cydia but just only the pirated version tho i am an apple user so i can say its advantage and its disadvantage when it comes to android and also you need so much memory on ios when you are upgrading even jailbroken it require a 16 to 32gb to make your device a badass looking one

Jailbroken iOS > Android > Vanilla iOS

Android is the OS that I currently use, but I would love to get an iOS instead. I find it more sleek which is why I like it.

As for my PC, I use Windows. I'm mainly a gamer so Mac / Linux won't cut it.

I'm thinking of making the transation from ios to another operating system soon. I like my iphone in many ways so would like one that is similar or can at least do all or most of the things the iphone can do. Any suggestions? What's the main differences between android and windows?

I like Android for phone and specially Window7 for PC. don't like window8 at all.

on phones that is user choice but on my pc use win8 and im happy fastest of them all.

also in case of anroid you have most of applications free and easy to navigate so my most preferable operating system is anroid

I think Windows 8 is pretty good.

Android has the best features and looks. I think microsoft is just plain ugly but has some good features too.

Is not like Blackberry blast from the past? Total dead end in business solutions? It was cool like 5 year ago.

Windows 8 is great. I feel it much faster than Windows 7. It also seems to have a slight positive impact on gaming. On my phone, though, I prefer iOS.

I like android the most among other mobile operating systems. Easy, convenient and direct and it allows the user to be more "free" than with iOS.

Why not, windows isn't really safe considering its bugs but is a really user friendly OS, I like it.

No kidding its still one of the best OS , I still use it on one of my systems, and I can proudly say its still one of my fav. Windows vista wasn't that good ,  Windows 7 is best microsoft did after window XP and then they made a mess known as Windows8 , now trying to coverup with 8.1

Android because you can change anything. Apple is just a walled garden, no customizability

I had to switch to Win 7 but XP is still my favorite.

You should really try out android and you will probably hate ios after using a android system.

Android is my personal choice for portable devices. For these reasons:

Interoperability. Myself, my family members and my partner: all Android phones so I can give them quick advice if they have questions/problems.

Custom ROM's: you can do [¡]anything[\i] on Android that you can on iOS and usually for free or cheaper.

Availability of devices. I would use a top end phone, such as a Nexus 5 or LG G2 if I could. But because my job is physical and my phone gets banged and knocked at work I'm using and old Samsung S2. It's full of scratches and dents but it still does everything I need. My girlfriend has the nice phone ?

Android is regularly updated and compatible with Linux, which isn't going away any time soon.


If you've more than a modicum of knowledge when it comes to tech then go Android. If you just want to look flash and spend more than you need, go iOS.

I would say that you should go with iOS for sure.

Apple does sandbox iOS and it is not open source, however I do trust apple to make it's products secure. Apple does have iOS sandboxed.

I had all 3 different OS on my smartphones, and I think android is really much better :

iOS : I had the iPhone 4S when it was the last apple product. It was awful and impossible to do so much things ! And even after a jailbreak it's so much things possible on computer or with android that are still impossible with iOS ! For me this OS is only for very old people, very young kids, or very low IQ.
Windows Phone 8 : maybe worse than iOS ! And the market is full of counterfeit and doubtful apps... (tested on a HTC Windows Phone 8S)
Android : I use it on several devices and I'm really appy with it : I don't feel angry to don't be able to do things possible on computer  ;D
(Personal phones : Sony Xperia, personal tablet : Ainol Novo 7 Aurora and JXD S7800. Also used for work : Zopo ZP780, PiPO T9, Cube U30GT2)

i like windows phone is fast at all, nice reponce etc, but prefer android becus i can hack all on it and it run all smoot on quad core procesors and 2gb ram hehe

Android is cheap, user-friendly but lacks security. iOS have great features and great security but is expensive and not user-friendly.

True, windows have so many bugs and it's less secure. Microsoft does fix the bugs, they just call it a new version and make people pay for the 'upgrade'. They make sure they have plenty of new bugs so they can repeat the process in a few months
