Title: Tell me how to mine :)
Post by: gondel on June 15, 2014, 05:22:23 PM
Hello,
I have been mining different altcoins for a while last year, but I stopped doing it, because I started my own business and i didnt have time for nothing. So i was mining just for fun with my laptop and 2-3 more PC ( also laptops) and I was getting very little profit, but i was enjoying it. I am not a complete noob in mining (little experience) so can you advise me what to mine these days and is it profitable to buy hash power or to use VPS or cloudmining? I will be happy to hear from you something! Thank you in advance!
Best Regards,

Gondel

You've got 3 options these days:

1) Buy a selection of coins and hold onto them long term / trade coins
2) Spend a load of money on ASICs, do some research into promising coins and mine then (Scrypt coins)
3) Get some nVidia 750Ti cards and mine X11 / X13 coins. Good hashrate against low power consumption.

All 3 are potentially a risk. It depends on whether you have the funds, personally I've done all 3 and have varying returns.

The answer to this question can greatly vary depending on what you'd like to mine. I personally mine on scrypt multipools with my Gridseed ASIC. There are many new ASICs being released such as the BitFury ASICs. These are pretty popular and by the time it comes in the mail the next generation of ASIcs are out. I would personally GPU/CPU mine X11 coins if you had the hardware, but scrypt ASICs are quite cheap and effective.

Hi,

How much exactly are these scrypt ASICs? I would like to buy one if someone can deliver to Bulgaria! I still dont know nothing about this X11 script. With what is different?
Thanks!

mining on laptop is a bad idea, not only the profit is so slim and you spoil your good laptop :)

X11 Has a lower power usage, and you can use FGPA's to mine the algo.

If you want to scrypt mine i would recommend getting a couple of these > https://minereu.com/product/zblizz/

They ship from London to Europe so it would be easy for you to buy. Power usage is 40W each so you can easily make a profit in about 90 days with one of these.
