Wow, that's pretty smart. The company can sell off its shares (or issue them) to buy updated mining equipment when it needs to. As such, it can distribute more dividends, rather than keep them for reinvestment in mining equipment or pay power bills. It could also distribute back btc as dividends to shareholders. With an ETF, are you getting dividends?

It's also good for Australia, and foreigners can invest in it without being too concerned as to what happens or doesn't happen there. Chinese money can (hopefully) flow in that would otherwise be limited to buying btc back home. How are the Chinese authorities going to stop what DigitalBTC does with its dividends?

One of the issues with Chinese is they have $50k limit to send out of the country per year which makes it hard for normal investors to do that.

If this trades anything like it's previous incarnation after the reverse buyout, it's a fun, volatile ride to be on!

While this is a great event for the legitimacy of BTC, I think it's probably worth mentioning that the chairman of digitalBTC made his fortune through pretty questionable methods.

without adressing the first half of that article in the second half there are links to forums of people saying how they were basically scammed by sms adverts for a "love calculator" service made by the chairman of digitalBTC which turned out to be a scam where users were billed weekly not to their knowledge and opting out was an arguous process. Not sure if these "sms scams" were as prevalent in other countries like the were in Australia but here they are advertised frequently often on "MTV" and other channels young teens are probably watching. They are solely targeted at children with newly acquired mobile phones not realising what they're signing up for and either themselves or their parents pay unkowingly.

TLDR the chairman of digitalBTC is basically a scam artist

People are so fucking stupid. They keep repeating the same mistakes in a perpetual loop of idiocy. Any investors in this long con deserve to be broke. Enjoy reading your fake quarterly cashflow reports.
