According to Ruvesna, more than 300 people have been killed in Kramatorsk during the last week (most of them civilians, but around one-third local resistance fighters). See this:

Ukraine is not gonna recover that fast, that is terrible crime going on. I will never understand how can someone shoot at civilian with no weapon. Russia should stop that war and Ukraine should give Russians what they want, not to resist. This resistance is not going to payout well, as we can see from the number of dead people. What can be done to stop that massacres?

The resistance is not doing well, and therefore the Kiev junta sees no reason to end the conflict. They knew that they will be able to win, although after suffering significant number of casualties. Then why should they gave in to the rebels?
