even if your cells didn't deteriorate, you could die from a physical wound.. so i don't like it when these questions are posed. oh, and i wouldn't even want to live forever. just let me die in peace.

but even if we did reach this level of technology, it would cause a huge problem.. people wouldn't or couldn't have kids anymore, and there would definitely be a population problem.

Why would you want to live forever? Surely you don't want to out live your kids and add to the world's pensioners which are living longer and less people are producing children whether it be monetary or eating the additives in processed food causing sterilisation.

We all live forever.  Non existence does not exist, your perception will always continue.  It is our perception (consciousness) that makes us what we are, not what we are making our perception.

Someday, sure. Eventually they'll figure out some technology that will allow the mind to live forever.

But who the hell wants to live forever? I welcome death.  When its my time to go, so be it.

I would hate to live forever, eventually you'd get so bored you would want to die.  It would be live spending the weekend at your grandparents house.

Have you watched the movie "Man from Earth"?

Scientifically, a perfect regeneration of the body cells can help you live thousands of years until you die a non-natural death - i.e. someone shoots you down or you drown yourself in the sea.

If you believe in the world of spirits, infinite, eternal spiritual world or Heaven (in some religion called paradise or with other names) it's possible.

If there is a spirit world then yeah forever, but there is one thing for sure, make good actions and the people always will remember you for that.

I don't think that live forever it's a good thing. If you know that you will live forever you just waste a lot of time.

Yes, if they can find a way to cure aging and control it.

If there is a way to live forever why not? Those who don't want it can go old and can die peacefully. Humans are so fragile because we age and die like animals do. Living forever would be a big achievement of our human race as a species.

We need to think outside the box, we need to think in grander scale. Having longer life is a necessities in interstellar travel that could take thousands of years because of the vast distances between star systems. We need it to conquer the other stars systems, to make sure the survival of humanity.

I'd be happy with living 200-300 years personally, first 100 years can do the family thing. 2nd 100 years can do the business man thing. 3rd 100 years do the monk/spiritual thing. Out living your kids is tricky yup.

Even if it was possible it would be strange. Not sure it would be a good idea. Really loved the "Death at Intervals" of Saramago.

You cannot create something from nothing.  You always have existed and you always will.  Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transferred.

Sure, but what does that say about the question of "living"? I'd say the question of whether we can live forever is quite separate from the question of whether the matter that composes are body/essence exists forever.

The universe will die one day, how could be different to us? We live forever would contradict the thermodinamics laws
