I get a lot of "down time" at my job, so very often I am doing my own thing, including occasionally (discreetly) hanging out at Bitcointalk. It's not hard for me to very quickly exit out of it when somebody walks in. Does anyone else do the same?

I do most of my bitcoin stuff at work....web development has it's perks  ;D

Yes, the good thing is: I dont even have to hide it. Internet access is allowed here, we just have to keep in civil and porn free.

I do all my bitcoin obsessing from work. I work for myself from home, and my wife is fully supportive of the bitcoin. So, no need to "very quickly exit" when someone walks in.

did some of my most profitable trades at work through my smartphone. one day i bought mooncoins at .00000001 and sold for .00000010. was nice to make 3 BTC in a day lol.

I'm assuming you aren't from North America? Lots of employees around here just casually chill on Facebook at work, bitcointalk forums if anything is actually more productive! :P

I mostly just play with myself at work. I can't help it, work is so boring, while masturbation is so fun!

I pretty much have this up all day at work, not that I am always on it just like to browse stuff while it is slow...

Can't really complain though love learning about anything possible!

I would stay away from running any sort of Bitcoin client at a work site. That story just came out about the researcher who used the supercomputers to mine Bitcoin. Since Bitcoin is money, most if not all employers would frown upon using company computers for personal financial gain. Even if you are not mining, it could still get you in trouble so you have to ask yourself if it is really worth it. Just like pron, best to wait until you get home  ;D

You have to be careful because it could be one of those places you worked here and read this.
however, what you post is representative of what I experienced as well. : P

Im an associate who ended up in a shitty project, we all are just chillin here. So i dont feel guilty for dedicating some of my working hours to bitcoin.

The majority of us is guilty for that im sure  ;D

What else to do at work, seriously.

How do web developers have so much free time? Don't you have deadlines and multiple projects?

Sometimes you get so much of work that you don't get time to breath and sometimes you are so free that you don't know what to do. either way one can take out some time for bitcoin :p if you really are that much into it .

They often have leaders who don't catch anything which is technical, and workload estimation is never correct. These two things make it easy to have free time.

My biggest problem with free time when people say they are so busy at work, it probably (not all the time) means you aren't very good at what you do. 

The people that do it around my office are terrible at what they do. 

An example:  A few years ago I got bumped down due to seniority and this position was meant to be 36 hours a week and they expected you have to have to take overtime to finish the job, because it was very challenging and very hard to do. 

My actual work I did during that job that was supposed to be so hard and take a long time, was more like 12 hours a week.  I could have handled 3 different projects that other people were doing and been just fine, yes I wouldn't have had free time then....but what are you going to do...

At work, i spend some time to read bitcointalk and coindesk. I write some code on bitcoin : http://seedguardian.github.io/ (http://seedguardian.github.io/). And I run vanitygen to get different addresses.

Exactly. And longer you work, more shortcuts you know, faster you can do your job. Part of that "saved" time i give to my emplyer (as look bos, i made it sooner than we agreed) and part i give to myself to cool down from work and type posts like this on forums. My boss is happy, and i'm happy.

I do all my bitcoinBTC research from work, what else better to do when stuck behind a desk with a laptop (Other then Porn) ;D

I'm sitting on Bitcointalk 50% at work and 50% at home. So it's not a problem

You only need to compare the activity levels of this forum on a weekday and weekend to see that people only play with bitcoins while at work :)

Hang out in forum is not play. But actively buying selling at btce/bitstamp is, running a mining git at work is. Bythis definition, I am not playing bitcoin at work.

I am about 99% sure my internet traffic is closely monitored at my workplace so I don't, unfortunately.
Actually, I'll open Winkdex once in a while...

At work, we make little goal posts from straws and use our bitcoins to play table soccer.

I gamble on PD and other sites during quiet moments in the office ;)

Spinning off this topic a little bit, I am willing to guess about 80% of people who work do not work 100% of the time....What else do you guys do at work that is probably frowned upon?  I notice my manager looking at weather sites a lot....

It is not expected to be productive 100% of the time. If you were not allowed to take any breaks then you will be less productive throughout the day

Guilty! Im checking this forum more often now and every hour I'm on freebitco.in just to win a few small coins, it ads up at the end of the week and who knows one day these little coins could be worth big bucks, then the waste of all this work time will be worth it.  ;)

my university introduced me with bitcoins.  I had to write an essay about this system. And now i explaining some to my group mates every day. it's looks like a work, really. revers, he-he  ;D

I work at home so I usually have three or four sites open in the back ground for use between chats/calls. I need a job that pays in straight bit coin.
