Title: BTC to Paypal
Post by: TheJunkieMonkey on June 19, 2014, 07:43:39 PM
Hi

I am receiving Bitcoins now through Virwox as I can cash them into Paypal, but it is quite expensive.

Does anybody know any cheaper methods to get it into Paypal?

Thanks

because of Paypal's policies, very few companies will work with them to service bitcoin payments. Virwox is the only such service i know, to be honest.

Not really a good idea to use paypal for crytocoin as payment can be reversed.

If you want to convert bitcoins to paypal, you get the cheapest and best at localbitcoins.com. But find some trusted guy with 100+ feedbacks.

Beware with new guys who ask request.

In case you haven't used it, yeah. I also recommend localbitcoins.com, it's sorta kinda the closest thing we got to a 'decentralised' exchange.

You can find people buying bitcoin with paypal on localbitcoins and currency exchange section here on bitcointalk.
You should only trade with highly trusted people, to avoid getting chargeback. :)

btctopp.com is legitimate. I tested those guys with 0.1 BTC and received my PayPal in approximately 25 minutes.

Did a bit of research before diving in. Use the search function.  ;)

Found the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294598.0 with search.
There were some good reviews in Sept and Oct 2013.
But since then, no one has commented for 8 months until an account with negative trust commented on Jun 18.

It seems very few people have used it in the past months...

There might be a few trading PayPal for BTC on localbitcoin. It is very risky since charge backs can happen. If possible find a trusted and reputatable member on BTCtalk and trade BTC for PayPal, no guarantees he will not charge back but it have a power chance. I think BTC-e offer this option too.

I know that in the past they offered the option to withdraw to Paypal, but do they still do? I also remember the fees and minimum amount to withdraw were not very 'user friendly'.

The fees are 7% and minimum amount is 500USD, quite alright considering that it doesnt require verifications and lower trading fees.

Found a few persons with feedback buying bitcoin for paypal in the "Currency Exchange" subforum for you.

I haven't used any of their services, and don't know if they are legit.

Are there any safe ways to buy bitcoin with Paypal? I've heard of people getting ripped off trying to buy them on Ebay.

Yea fees on Virwox are quite bad but if you trade there regularly, you gets discounts. The more you trade the less you pay in fees.
Also Okpay has exchanges that take Bitcoin and Paypal but I've never used it myself.
I just thought I'd post the link in case you wanna have a look.

Virwox is the safest and easiest I could find.
I use them a lot. Never had a problem.
The only drawback is the fees.

localbitcoins.com, is a better option on decentralised' exchanges so give it a try to convert your BTC.

No,as we all know due to strong paypal policies it's not possible to easily get bitcoin with paypal. But you can find some exchangers in person in your locality and buy off with them try Localbitcoins

If you really want to get Paypal, you can sell bitcoin on exchanges, withdraw the money with bank transfer and then load money in your Paypal account.

For 1 bitcoin they charge 40 dollar.

The most secure and inexpensive is to buy something. Remember, bitcoin is money. Why would you cash out money to get less money? Why did you get the bitcoin in the first place?

Both eBay and Paypal don't work well with Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies.
It is much better to use irreversible payments like cash and MoneyGram.

Virwox is the only one I know of right now but I agree with you, the fee's are far too much to be honest. I personally will not deal with bitcoins through PayPal in any kind of way to be honest because they can so easily be reversed causing me to lose out.

The only way to do this is to ask someone that trusts you to send you money through paypal in exchange for BTC.
The reason the have to trust you is that you can reverse the transaction "chargeback".

I have a business partner who helps me out like this sometimes.

Note that paypal has to report money flowing into your account to the IRS though :) Above 2.5k euro, I believe
