Title: Casascius error 2011 coin (3BTC) or (~2.73BTC)
Post by: miffman on June 21, 2014, 02:13:30 PM
So this deal is gonna be a little different to what you're used to. I have a deal that I can buy a casascius coin for under 3BTC, but I have not purchased it myself. So in effect, you buy the coin via me. Shipping included. Definitely escrow since this is a strange deal. A different deal is that you pay me .5BTC, and I'll send you directly to the deal without having to deal with me. Also escrow here. Going this route means you can pay for the coin ~2.23BTC from the guy himself.

Why am I doing this? I've seen coins go for much more than 3BTC, so you'd be able to pick up this deal cheaply. Buying the deal from me means you're paying ~2.73BTC (incl shipping) for an error coin.

Strange I know, but we are going to escrow for both of us out of security.

I can't provide a picture. If we escrow, the escrow will receive a picture and he/she can confirm the deal is valid.

Without a VERY high quality picture of front and back, you won't be getting an offer higher than 2 BTC for this, its too risky.

I've gotten 4 BTC offers for my MS-66 graded 2011 error coins, and 3 BTC ungraded but ONLY when the quality was super awesome.

If the quality is even average, like it was touched using fingers alot, its gonna be hard to pay anything over 2.5BTC

Coins need to be very well taken care of, no finger marks, no nicks, good strike, always in a plastic capsule.

Without a picture, we can't bid on it. @Blazedout419 and most of the other collectors here will agree with me on this.

I see. Thanks for your input! From what I can see, it looks like it's in really good condition. It is also in a coin capsule. I will try to organise an image a bit later. I'd be happy to present the deal first before payment to a trusted member only, like you.

Especially if its *really* good quality, you can fetch quite a bit for it.

Well if you're interested, you can PM me. As with anyone, but I can refuse it if you're not trusted.

Something sounds fishy here. Why exactly can't you post a picture of it here?

Because he doesn't have the coin in his possession, rather, he's acting as a middleman.

Exactly. Like I said,  I'm not moving forward without an escrow so security should be fine.

Problem is you wont get a buyer without a photo to give an idea of condition; its crucial.

I sent one to blazedout, hopefully he can vouch for the quality. I will try to get a picture that I can post here.

From the picture it looks fine, but the buyer needs to look and decide if they like it.

I'm confused.. Is there any reason you can't post that same image here? Does it reveal the seller or something?

it does, if reverse searched.

Is it worth the asking price?

I hate to try and price someone else's coin..also I am using my iPad today so the picture quality was hard to tell.  I told OP to get a better picture and post it here...it does look pretty clean though from what I could tell.

It might be a little helpful to add that there is room for a budge. I will try to obviously egret a pic at some point

Thanks for clarification. When is the deadline for this sale?

There is no deadline, until the seller himself gets a buyer, or I get one first. But I would like to get this sold fast, since I'm tight on BTC.

Is this kept in the capsule? Looks like the top is off, also some dirt on the coin.

I'd pay 2.3 BTC for it

Buy the coin yourself, get it graded, resell for 4. You just made a profit.
